hi guys, i'm new to these audiophile stuff and wanna get into it now. i'm planning to buy a headphone for around rm 200-250 (possibly IEMs too, depends.)

currently i am thinking about the Senn HD202. hw is it? and also do you guys think headphone / IEM is better? open/half open/ closed?

sorry for these questions. i'm new to these stuff

Anyone had a picture of HD202 after tearing the outer layer of the padding?

i am planning to get it together with the fiio e5. does it help a lot, or i can just use my iphone output?

I have heard good thing bout HD202-II, seems it worth what it costs.

Personally I like headphone more than IEM, reason being that headphone is much more comfy.
Open/closed are depending on your usage.

Open are generally better but does not offer any kind of isolation and is not suitable for public place.

I've tried the Senns HD202 and they are a good pair of headphones for it's asking price. Headfonia has a review on the Senns if you didn't already know.

Ya know, after what you have told me, I went an order a FiiO L5, the LOD cable for sony walkman.
And I hooked it up to my rig and...I find it weird?

The output became very weird, and it's got more distortion than using the 3.5mm out lol!
The output also became very unstable, sometimes the music/song is soft then suddenly loud, i'm not sure what the hell is going on

I bought this one just for fun, I liked how it sounds. I don't think its genuine Senns but for 20 bucks I'm not complaining. Bought at largest PC shop in The Mines, I forgot the shop name.

can u tell us how your rig setup?wondering how u use L3 switch to...L3 is usually for portable amp 1,maybe u need Line out Dock alone(not included the cable 1,it can plug in whatever cable u like)

If u want set your portable player to Desktop amp,it would be Sony walkman- >Line out Dock -> 3.5 to RCA cable ->Desktop amp...mostly i set like that before

It's a L5. L3 is for ipods lol.
Well I've tried looking the dock without cable but all I can find is the L5 :/

i am looking at hd228 and hd238.. still undecided which is the right one i should get...and another headache..hard to tell if those online seller is selling fake or real sen..

Added on May 28, 2011, 2:53 pmHD 228 is a closed earpiece type. outside ppl can't hear what ur listening while the hd 238 is an open back type. overall both are nearly similar with the hd 238 having the upper hand. hope this helps.
