QUOTE(SilverCrimz @ May 12 2015, 04:37 PM) Hi guys, totally new to the whole audiophile environment. I just purchased a 598 recently and i was thinking of getting a portable amp+dac. Do i require any additional cables? and i know this gonna sound silly but i normally listen with my phone (im on the go alot so yeah @_@) so anything extra to top on that? what phone u using? android or ios? if android u need a micro usb to connect to ur dac, or 3.5mm to 3.5mm to connect headphone jack to the amp line in. normally if u purchase new all accesorries are included. if ios the dac+amp is normally more expensive but, HD598 is not that portable, due to it size and open design, ppl will hear what u hear, and it do not required extra amping due to it low impedance, but amping will slightly improve the sound, but not dayvand night different

I did check with some they say not many support android devices. I was looking at the Fiio E10k but unfortunately the seller told me it does not support android. So in your opinion the headset itself is suffice enough for the sound quality alone? QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ May 13 2015, 10:31 AM) Oppo HA2. Powerful, nicely priced, works with Android or iOS. Done. The reason i chose e10k initially was due to the pricing that fit my budget. Any recommendations that is around the price range of 200++?

QUOTE(empire23 @ May 9 2015, 10:46 AM) Dear sifus here, Pliz recommend an amp that goes well with a HD800. I guess I'll play along and pretend to be a sifu... What DAC are you planning on pairing the amp? QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ May 9 2015, 11:13 AM) Sennheiser HDVA600. Mass Kobo 394 Cavalli Liquid Crimson. Benchmark DAC2 HGC Cambridge AZUR851D The sky is the limit. Chord Hugo is also very nice with the HD-800. As does the Cavalli Liquid Gold. QUOTE(Problem @ May 9 2015, 11:41 AM) Tube amp: Woo Audio WA2,22 or 7 Schiit Vali Solid state: Violectric V200, V281 if your budget can stretch further Matrix M stage (tolerable but not ideal) No recommendation for the DNA Stratus? Those you recommended are very modest.

If your budget can really stretch and patience to wait for a minimum of 5 months to get it build, I'd still say it's abit of luck, not everyone like 2A3 power tubes lack of low end power but nice on the top. Certain names I have not listed despite its price tag, are not exactly the best for the HD800 like the WA5, liquid LAu.

Had a go at the new Momentum 2.0 Wireless in BSC. Hands down physical appeal is a true killer. Plush earcups & retro design especially the Ivory pair. Connected to my Note 4 over bluetooth so should be on APT-X. Lows are pretty defined but I don't feel the same about the highs and mids especially. Separation didn't seem to match up to the price tag. Anyone tried the new momentum wireless? Hoping that the sound quality will improve with longer use

Guys, I've been using CX 300-II Precision for about 4 years, the earphones are very good for its price point.
I'm planning to upgrade to new Sennheiser earphones or headphones with the same characteristic of the old one. Any recommendation?

It's around RM400-500. But, Jaben doesn't have stock. Don't know why Sennheiser always give them so little stock.
