QUOTE(cyh03176 @ Apr 2 2013, 03:26 PM) thank you yea, i ordered fiio e12 and l3 today. it is released today in the uk, should reach before friday. unfortunately, the cable that came with hd650 is broken as i was trying to remove it, i think it is too old and the previous owner never remove it before. so i am ordering a new cable from sennheiser and it should reach before thursday. i am thinking of ordering a pure silver lod and pure silver cable for the cans as well. but the question is, should i? If you have extra cash they why not, else it's best to spend your cash on upgrading your audio chain, especially your source

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Jul 8 2013, 12:48 PM) Tested the momentum in the klav yesterday, sounded really good with the setup they have. But the momentum didn't sound that good with X3 though.. When I last tried, I personally liked the HD-25 as compared with the momentum. The Momentum however looks great on the other hand ! On a side note, got myself a HD800 just a couple weeks back and man the soundstage is just remarkable and can't recall if I've ever heard something with that big of a soundstage. Surprisingly alot have described that the HD800 being overly bright but comparing against the T1, the highs are not as sharp as I remembered but infact sounded smooth to my ears. QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Jul 8 2013, 08:58 PM) How would you compare the HD-25 against the momentum? And also Amperior? I wish the momentum was foldable though, not that portable when it can't be folded! But yeah, i think it's the best looking sennheiser and maybe portable audiophile headphones for that price range. I'm tempted =) Been awhile since I last tested, but I felt that the HD-25 was not as aggressive as the amperior/momentum. Can't remember which model I compared against but I felt either the amperior/momentum had a smaller soundstage as compared to the HD-25. But that's just me

QUOTE(jkwanness @ Jul 9 2013, 11:06 AM) Congrats on your hd800 actually when I still had my t1, the t1 is brighter than hd800, cause hd800 has deeper bass... The soundstage wasn't really as impressive as perceived.. T1 matched it in every way except for height... I would say t1 is even better in imaging... But hd800 is liquid smooth and just the right fr graph.. The bass on these are insanely good... Quality I mean.. Today I'll try then against LCD 3! Well for me it personally feels slightly wider and definitely agree on the height part of the soundstage aspect. Can't really comment into the imaging. I can understand why if biased towards certain genre like orchestra and classical where it feels so lively. However I have tried with multiple genre such as rock and metal and I'm not disappointed with its performance. The upper mids to highs are definitely smoother to the T1, not so grainy actually. Even when I had the LCD2/T1, it felt there was some treble peak but not so in the HD800. Just wonder how does the HD800 performance fair if its paired with balanced configuration such as Schiit Mjolnir/Bryston BHA-1/Headamp GS-X Btw, have you seen the mod done to the HD800? QUOTE(jkwanness @ Jul 9 2013, 11:08 PM) yeah.. actually it performs very well across all genres... i don't listen to classical or orchestra, but with everything else.. its very good.. i just compared it with the LCD-3 just now.. LCD-3 was underpowered even with Soloist SL.. anyways, LCD-3's treble was better than my HD800 surprisingly... and the bass of HD800 was around the same quantity of LCD, however hd800 has better bass quality.. HD800's bass was really really wow when i first heard it, just different level. but, the treble peak was really apparent, when A/Bing LCD.. to the point that it was unbearable.. but it could be of my source.. was running it HP out of my xperia z LOL.... anyways speaking of Anax mod, yes i went to Daiso right away to buy adhesive felts.. just RM5 for 3 piece.. i bought two packs planning to do double layer. I did it once before with single layer, the difference was not noticable.. I'm hoping double layer will be better, and wont take out too much air or muffle the sound.. will post pics and impressions soon! Hmm still wating for the LCD-3 delivery into Singapore before I can possession of one , was surprised that you find the bass on the quantity level as the LCD as I remembered the LCD3 was relatively flat from 10hz until to the upper 500hz section as compared to the HD800 which is upward sloping from 10hz onwards. About the Anax Mod, it just reminded me of the hardcore mod of T1 when you had it previously and the concept behind it.

Would say its better for you to try both of them out and which suits your taste as the HD650 and HD800 is tuned very differently.
Also, you would need to invest in a decent amp as both are rated 300 Ω and the HD800 itself can be quite finicky if its paired wrongly

QUOTE(munak991 @ Jul 15 2013, 11:17 PM) Some people say save up for HD 800 instead of getting HD 650 @_@ an investment from nothing to DAC + HD 800 = How much @_@ It depends on how much you're willing to budget it out, are you looking for for a solid state setup, OTL/transformer tube amplifiers, fully balanced configurations? Don't be surprised once you start searching around that some people can even spend more on the amp/dac which may even cost more than the HD800 itself. QUOTE(munak991 @ Jul 15 2013, 11:46 PM) Since the Headphone gonna cost 4k GG de... Im thinking jsut grabbing HD 650 cause i saw offer price in some web. but mana tau, thats why i dont HD 595 to HD 650 isit a worth upgrade? Best to try it out if suits your flavour as Quazacolt mentioned some can live with the HD650 "veiled" sound or even love it while some don't like it at all and may even call the HD650 too dark for their taste. Haven't heard the HD595 in a long time so it's not fair for me to give an assessment, but that is what your ears are for eh?

Wooaudio I got it from their distributor David & Associates International QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 16 2013, 12:14 AM) that is a norm among hd800 users =edit= damn i just noticed you have the ALO Audio Rx MK3-B, what are you using it to drive? the 515 and going portable? Used to drive my JH16 with it actually and the 515 is more like antique to me now. Too lazy to replace the ear pads. I actually have it listed for sale in the GS if you're interested

QUOTE(jkwanness @ Jul 16 2013, 08:17 AM) If budget permits, try hd800 with a decent setup... It's really something... My dac and amp is about mid range, but performs well... Second hand markets have good stuff too haha Saw some nice DAC out there but the price is quite Bryston BDA-2Wyred4Sound DAC-2QUOTE(munak991 @ Jul 16 2013, 02:30 PM) How to hunt 2nd hand DAC/Amp looking at Cambridge audio. or Wooaudio... But not in the mean time for HD 800... RM 4.2k @_@ There is a small local 2nd hand market for DAC's, just gotta look for it. Some of it actually looks decent if you don't mind limiting yourself to 24/96 output. Or perhaps go turntable !

QUOTE(bl@ze @ Apr 19 2014, 10:02 PM) Yea..mine had a wait time of 2 weeks..I should get it first week of May.. Do share your impressions once you have received it, Audio-GD products are very well known for their Master 7 DAC , one of the much better ones around in the market in fact and Master 9 for its sheer power and authority. For HD800 however, that could be different as the only consensus I've read (though this are opinions from others) that the only SS amps that pair nicely with the HD800 is the Violectric V200 due to its darker signature.

QUOTE(Sentinel92 @ May 6 2014, 09:10 PM) Easier to blame someone else. I wouldn't mind either if the HD700 was going at a good price. But a certain shop once said don't get HD700, it's using HD650 drivers. Higher end one better. And Looooool Android. ComingSoonTM. Difference in preferences, I've known someone whom I met at KLAV last year who swore on the HD600 up till now and build his rig around it. Up until early this year he told me he got the HD800 after all this while and now finds it difficult in pairing a proper amp with it hahaha.

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ May 7 2014, 01:49 PM) The HD700 was on sale for some time, it's new though but the V6 is mine used. The HD800 most likely won't be on sale unless someone is interested within these few days. I'm more towards IEM so I don't really keep any full sized headphones. Ah that explains it as I didn't realized that you had the HD700/800 based on your signature. If I ever go back to CIEM/IEM, might consider the RE600 instead for universals as customs are much more difficult in reselling

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ May 7 2014, 02:47 PM) Haha no no.. They are too big for my small ears lol Haven't heard the RE600, how is it? I figured universal customs wouldn't be that bad since its still handmade with nice designs compared to normal generic consumer type. But you're right it is harder to sell custom brands since they are not as well known as the usual brands For me the RE600, it was slightly on the lusher side of sound, somewhat to the RE400 but more refined. Selling customs is difficult not because it is not well known but rather it is shaped only to your ear hahahaha, in that regard I really doubt the local market is willing to something that you can't used immediately. I remember placing an ad for my JH16 around 10pm on head-fi, then around 2am the deal was done already and shipped to the US via DHL in the morning On a side note, 1 more month before my amp is completed

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ May 7 2014, 03:43 PM) That's why mine is a universal version to avoid reselling hassle lol. Did you sell yours via ebay/PayPal? Actually yea selling on head fi is a lot easier, but quite troublesome =.= How much was the dhl shipping? Including insurance? I sold mine on head-fi, like selling in LYN forums but received payment through PayPal. eBay has that annoying listing fee and images restriction. I think shipping to US was around RM235 but that was express shipping without insurance, I did factor in shipping cost and included a slightly higher priced for shipping purposes. Insurance from DHL is around 2% of total declared value if I recall. Anyway, some side shot on the HD800!
