Hehe. Don't blame me man. They just sound that good. I didn't do anything.

But on a side note. If I had to pick one, I would pick the HD700 over the HD800. Just a preference towards the sound signature and presentation.

Easier to blame someone else. tongue.gif

I wouldn't mind either if the HD700 was going at a good price. But a certain shop once said don't get HD700, it's using HD650 drivers. Higher end one better. tongue.gif

And Looooool Android. ComingSoonTM.

Difference in preferences, I've known someone whom I met at KLAV last year who swore on the HD600 up till now and build his rig around it. Up until early this year he told me he got the HD800 after all this while and now finds it difficult in pairing a proper amp with it hahaha.

HD800 is a whole different ballgame. You need a setup even more expensive than the headphones it self before you can finally drive it properly and to its full potential.

But yeah, to each his own. Hopefully I can find something I really like soon.

LOL, no worries la.
I'm sure they sound great, but yes it depends on preference to signature and presentation. I know others who prefers the HD700 than the HD800 too.

hmm where did you hear they use the same drivers?

http://www.head-fi.org/t/590405/sennheiser...t-i-expected/15

As taken from Jude's comments
"It is not a ring driver. It is a 40mm driver, but it is definitely not the same driver as the HD 600 or HD 650. You can see it when you look at all of those drivers. And you can hear it when you listen to all of those headphones."

But i can guess who told you that, since he is quite biased towards HD700 and me for selling cheap i think lol

Lol I think we are talking about different people hahahah. But let's leave it at that.

I can't do anything till I get the moolah anyways. Let's see how it goes after my final paper.

Letting go of my HD558/E17 soon too. Sigh. Gonna miss it.

any recommendation for sennheiser on-ear/over-the-head headphone <RM800? Planning to buy one sennheiser headphone OR a sol republic track hd.
I focus more on: DTS movies, good bass and treble, listening all kind of musics (house, trapstep, alt rock, thrash metal, melodeath metal)

HD598 has close to zero bass, very shy down low. HD558 would be a better fit, warmer tilt and more fun sounding for movies. But neither are exceptionally good at action type of movies.

The HD558 and HD598 though are great with metal with its lush mids. Lots of instrument details can be picked out. Used to listsen to my metal tracks with the HD558 and it was a joy to say the least.

Lol close to zero is abit harsh. They do have bass, just not as much compared to the usual headphones nowadays.

Can also consider m50 although it's closed type.

How come you're selling off your universal V6 and now the HD700 and then RM4500 for the HD800 in 2 weeks?

The HD700 was on sale for some time, it's new though but the V6 is mine used. The HD800 most likely won't be on sale unless someone is interested within these few days.

I'm more towards IEM so I don't really keep any full sized headphones.

Ah that explains it as I didn't realized that you had the HD700/800 based on your signature.

If I ever go back to CIEM/IEM, might consider the RE600 instead for universals as customs are much more difficult in reselling rclxub.gif

They are very bass shy cans, very linear and laid back. It's the typical Sennheiser veil.

Wasn't comparing to "usual" headphones either, was comparing it to the HD558 and its direct competition the Q701. Both of which has more impact.
Regardless the HD598 isn't suited to action movies IMO.

Haven't heard the RE600, how is it?
I figured universal customs wouldn't be that bad since its still handmade with nice designs compared to normal generic consumer type. But you're right it is harder to sell custom brands since they are not as well known as the usual brands sad.gif
