I posted this in the Amp/DAC recommendation thread I guess I'll post here again.

Going to pick up my Sennheiser HD800 today from Jaben. Which of these two amps complements/drives/powers the HD800 nicely? GoVibe Porta Tube or Just Audio AHA-120? OR are there any other alternatives?

I'm aiming for portable/transportable configuration now, as my work requires me to travel and move around. Not listening on the go, or while walking around town, but transporting the setup to and from locations and listening once arriving at said location. Hence the need for portable/transportable setup.

I primarily listens to jazz, R&B, classical with the occasional rock and pop(retro). Also, I will be using this setup to watch movies on laptops. My old Headamp Pico should suffice as a DAC should I need a clean digital signal for that.

TIA for your advice/recommendations.

Yes, I've listened to the HD800 while in Frankfurt, and quite smitten by it. Granted, it was running classical only at the time, and on tube amp I cant recall the brand of, so I wouldn't know how it would sound on my other preferred genres or on other portable amps.

So it looks like either I upgrade my home setup and stay homebound, or abandon the dream of a transportable setup from the way it was advised by you two.

I've read the same pairing recommendation about the Burson Audio on HeadFi. The reason I was semi-hopeful was the Headfonia review on the Just Audio AHA-120, that made me think it was possible to do the transportable setup.

I hate the fitment of the Audeze, and have tried the T1 and hadn't really got me thinking day and night to get it.

Sigh, looks like it's a no go for me. But I should thank you two for saving me from an investment that I might well regret later on. Thanks guys!

I see HD800 as a masterpiece of art, and I was literally crazy for it. So I bought a second pair to "keep" it. But after a while I realized that's kind of crazy so...lol.

Hey guys, I clicked this topic because I just recently bought a Sennheisier HD202-ii for my personal use. I don't use it all the time but I do wear it for music while playing drums.

i got the black red since the brown was out of stock.. brown would be classy while black red more retro..
mine is still sealed in box, still wondering if i should stick with it or swap for the brown

i know, i don't fancy the beats like red cables either... was actually looking around if there are any black/brown cables for sale, but then again it won't change the red cables at the top part =.=

but the brown pads are more prone to getting black, and while i try to treat my gears with care i'm quite lazy in maintaining them lol

but won't the red cable part in btw the headband and the pads make it look weird?

Do they have ready spare momentum cables?

Had heard good things bout the momentum, just had the chance to audition a pair of on ear momentum at Jaben and my oh my why have I not discovered the momentum sooner? I was really amazed at the sound, very fun with great bass, felt that the bass was better controlled compared to my HFI-580 and without the sibilance i find annoying with the Ultrasone, really good for EDM.

Never thought an on ear could sound so impressive, the performance does justify the price tag. Guess i got stung by the Momentum poison haha, gonna get myself a pair soon, but are there any sonic differences between the on ear and over ear version? Thanks
