I already mentioned that another layer of padding is going to be added to the right shoulder. This was supposed to be the final fitting, but I'm having another to make sure this is fixed.

You're probably right about judging their work. I think i've invested so much time and effort into getting my pattern at Iris right, that I'd have a hard time justifying a switch. Plus the fact that we've become close friends makes it even harder.

I do wish more locals (knowledgeable ones) would share their experiences with other tailors though.

Speaking of forward pleats, R likes making a deep pleat.

On my recent 'linen'...

[attachmentid=1734079]

R just copy the design of double pleated pants and make it single pleats----true single pleated pants should be pleat in the middle of side seams and the fly----too deep pleats will defeat its purpose,,,,,,most local tailors dont realize this

i had 3 pants w/ this ill-designed single pleated pants----had to gone through 3 experiments w/ 2 tailors before finally got them right

just picked up my giorgio armani suit(black label) i was wrong it was RM9499 !

its even better because its shinier than i thought (giorgio armani boutique lighting is very dark so it actually look alot shinier at bright place... )

slightly disappointed because the sales assistant coudlt tell me whether it is fused or canvassed or half canvassed because the sales assistant doesnt seem to have any idea what fused and canvassed mean! will post

its 85% ramie , 15% silk

lining is made of 51% viscose and 49% acetate

the fitting is quite good for an off the rack suit (size 44), compared to my previous emporio armani size 46 which is still quite big on the shoulder despite having it altered on the back and sleeves.. and the fashion jacket size 46 from prada S/S 2010 (it was a runway item!!) that i tried last month! (8k+ with 30% discount) had disappointing fit on me...

and the color seems to be different depending on the lightings sometimes it look grey sometimes look brownish but still shiny so i like it very much biggrin.gif

it is quite crumpled because i havent iron it when i got home..the picture i took is quite bad since its quite badly crumpled .. will post picture tomorrow after i get i ironed

Here's a golden tip:

Setting higher heat would also make the suit shinier!

tell everyone you want to be buried in that suit

put on hangar and leave till tomorrow. some suits are meant to be wrinkled, like linen suits. maybe ramie too.

what do you think?

i think in a realworld application, single forward pleats pants dont exist----many are double reverse pleats, some are double forward pleats, just a few are single reverse pleats---

forward pleats expand minimally---single forward pleats arent going to function well,,,id rather have a flat front w/ a bit of excess cloth at hip / thigh if im going for more comfort

my scale of slimness for pants====

1- slimmest ---- slim flat front

2- relaxed flat front = single reverse pleats = double forward pleats

3- baggy flat front = double reverse pleats

4- triple reverse pleats

5- roomiesttttttt ------------- quadruple reverse pleats,,,
