i think alt buttonholes are nice and acceptable,,,,we dont have to pursue perfection everytime
the last thing we want people to label us when they see teh clothes we wear is to call us perfectionist

attention to detail is good thing, but sometimes too perfect seems unnatural

nice big patch pockets,,,,,,very unique

QUOTE(bloke1 @ Apr 28 2010, 01:32 PM)
Unlike machine-made buttonoles, hand-made buttonholes must never be perfect. I call them Shibui. There is apparent difference between buttonholes made by an amateur and a master. A master is most exrent.
thats what i said

jeans looks kinda baggy,,, did you sized up?

i think a superfastic linen jacket should be matched w/ a faded selvage denim---not an rm8 jeans

QUOTE(bloke1 @ May 29 2010, 08:02 PM)
Why don't you tell me earlier? I have a nice pair of faded blue jeans from Giordano. I would have donated them to you otherwise.

Speaking of forward pleats, R likes making a deep pleat.

On my recent 'linen'...

R just copy the design of double pleated pants and make it single pleats----true single pleated pants should be pleat in the middle of side seams and the fly----too deep pleats will defeat its purpose,,,,,,most local tailors dont realize this

i had 3 pants w/ this ill-designed single pleated pants----had to gone through 3 experiments w/ 2 tailors before finally got them right

Maluzhai, please show me pictures of single pleated forward pleats done correctly.

what do you think?

i think in a realworld application, single forward pleats pants dont exist----many are double reverse pleats, some are double forward pleats, just a few are single reverse pleats---

forward pleats expand minimally---single forward pleats arent going to function well,,,id rather have a flat front w/ a bit of excess cloth at hip / thigh if im going for more comfort

my scale of slimness for pants====

1- slimmest ---- slim flat front

2- relaxed flat front = single reverse pleats = double forward pleats

3- baggy flat front = double reverse pleats

4- triple reverse pleats

5- roomiesttttttt ------------- quadruple reverse pleats,,,

as kotmj mentioned, fitted pants dont always work w/ pleats unless youre extra careful at the hip / thigh measurement,,,not too fit / not too baggy----you want those pleats to remain hidden while you stand and only expand during movement----

I actually bought 2 dozen gunmetal hook/eyes for my tailor. She specifically told me to get them in HK's shamshuipo market as they are much, much harder and more durable than the ones available locally ('Tailor' brand).

Will post pics once I get my trousers.
