just picked up my giorgio armani suit(black label) i was wrong it was RM9499 !

its even better because its shinier than i thought (giorgio armani boutique lighting is very dark so it actually look alot shinier at bright place... )

slightly disappointed because the sales assistant coudlt tell me whether it is fused or canvassed or half canvassed because the sales assistant doesnt seem to have any idea what fused and canvassed mean! will post

its 85% ramie , 15% silk

lining is made of 51% viscose and 49% acetate

the fitting is quite good for an off the rack suit (size 44), compared to my previous emporio armani size 46 which is still quite big on the shoulder despite having it altered on the back and sleeves.. and the fashion jacket size 46 from prada S/S 2010 (it was a runway item!!) that i tried last month! (8k+ with 30% discount) had disappointing fit on me...

and the color seems to be different depending on the lightings sometimes it look grey sometimes look brownish but still shiny so i like it very much biggrin.gif

it is quite crumpled because i havent iron it when i got home..the picture i took is quite bad since its quite badly crumpled .. will post picture tomorrow after i get i ironed

You should think of getting your suits from Anderson & Sheppard at Savile Row , London. They sew their labels in the inner pocket of their jackets so there is little chance of the label falling off!!
haha its just the made in italy label tho behind the neck .. the stitching is similar to Gucci shirts label, its quite weak and i think with abit force can pull it out , i asked my maid to resew it , but i am still wondering how did it came of after sending it for dry cleaning, perhaps i should switch to other dry cleaner as previously my Giorgio Armani dress shirt's 1 side of the collar holder or something went missing ...

the main Giorgio Armani label inside the chest is still intact

but i am kinda addicted to wear jackets these days and i feel next time i would love to get a brighter color one.. but not in the near future i am way too broke now and i still have to complete my staple wardrobe

Just received this in my inbox. Scabal newsletter.

Kim Jong Il's label addiction revealed

Korea's influencial paper since 1920 "Chosun" reports: Kim Jong-il's Mao suit is anything but affordable and utilitarian, according to a defector who used to supply luxury goods to the North Korean leader. "It should be called a luxury suit instead," said the defector, who requested anonymity.

While working for the regime, his job was to tour the country's embassies and consulates overseas and buy goods for Kim. "In the early 1990s, I was ordered to buy fabric for the dear leader and went to France to buy 60 yards of high-quality, cashmere and silk fabric produced by Scabal of London," he said. "I paid US$300 per yard, which came to $18,000."

About four yards of fabric are needed to make a suit, so the price of the cloth alone for Kim's suit amounted to $1,200. The North Korean leader apparently hands out fabric as a gift to his closest aides. "Even in terms of South Korean standards, that would be quite a luxurious product," the defector said. "But for the average North Korean it is unimaginable."

Kim Jong Il likes Scabal

But expensive price tags alone do not guarantee products a spot on Kim's wish list. "Kim Jong-il developed a liking for Scabal, because he heard foreign celebrities enjoy wearing clothes made using the fabric."

Park Je-hyun, who owns a tailor shop in the trendy Cheongdam-dong neighborhood in Seoul, said, "Scabal doesn't wrinkle easily, which is why people on the move like it." Fans include U.S. Presidents and movie stars.

At one time Kim apparently only wore shoes made by Italian cobbler Moreschi. "In early 2000, high-ranking North Korean government officials heard a rumor that the Dear Leader wears only Moreschi shoes, so they scoured Moreschi stores whenever they went on overseas trips," the defector said.

Kim is picky about his luxury brands. According to the defector, he has a penchant for Perrier bottled water, Martell Cognac and imported menthol cigarettes. One foreign diplomat said, "During his visit to China in 2005, Kim Jong-il was delighted to see bottles of Perrier that Chinese officials had prepared for him and asked his aides how the Chinese knew he liked Perrier."

The defector said, "I used to go to Switzerland a lot to buy large numbers of Omega watches. They weren't all for Kim Jong-il, but as rewards for his staff. He added, "Kim Jong-il doesn't need a watch. If he wants to know the time, he can just ask his underlings."

The suits look nice, but generally everything looks good on a model's body. How much is the asking price for the suit and just the pants?

Whether it is a good buy ornot depends on the value proposition i.e. bang for your buck.

Beau,
Ben (the Dj) pretended to be an Indian gentleman (complete with heavy accent) asking ALT if he could make a suit using his wife's huge and expensive collection of Saree cloth.

Ben then asked if he could have vegetables and fruits attached to the suit.

ALT was cool tho, he just said 1) Saree will make a transparent suit, hence unsuitable and 2) He can't help with having vegetables and fruits attached to the suit.

When pressed further, ALT just said that there is a customer walking in and he needed to attend to him, and after saying "sorry I can't help you", promptly hung up on Ben.

for EA pants goes at 1200 to 1500

as for the suits it should be around 4k-5k

Why don't you just get yourself bespoke for once? You will never go back to these if you do. You can choose any shiny fabric you want.

waiting for end the year sale to get z zegna suit and sport coat hopefully smile.gif!

their price and quality are pretty bargain compared to Prada,Gucci and Emporio Armani..

Prada suits starts at 7k onwards (size 46 onwards for msia boutique), Gucci suits starts at 7k aswell , but I never see them in Malaysia boutique... they only carry sport coats.. which are great quality but priced at 7k-20k (also only comes in 1 size 48)

as for Emporio Armani they also comes in size 46 onwards only in Malaysia.. their 4k-5k david line and jude line suits are crap.. their only good suits are 6k-7k napoli line (canvassed) which i believe might aswell go for Prada ?

as for Z zegna suits and Sport coats at just 4k-5k (with that much money save i can get a prada shirt for 1.8k and a suit/sport coat or a discounted 3k giorgio armani shirts..) ! but not sure wether they are made in Italy or not but the quality and fit are incredible.. but the material may not be top notch though (prolly reserved for their much more expensive higher line Ermenegildo Zegna and Zegna Couture..)

Z Zegna is Ermenegildo Zegna diffusion line to cather to young people ... slim cutting and more fashion forward design much like Emporio Armani to Giorgio Armani

i should have checked this store earlier cry.gif

they even have MTM specialist there.. but i dont have budget for MTM stuffs though!

it was a great experience there , the guy know what he was talking about , not just a sales person he does zegna MTM aswell .. I was very impressed when he can tell my size correctly without me telling him ! and he even know what type of suits that i like (fitting suits)

at the beginning i was torn between Prada or Gucci for my next suits, but at the moment i went and tried the suit in Z Zegna ! its clear what my choice is! (although Gucci stuffs are made by Ermenegildo Zegna but the difference is the price is clearly too steep.. but i can tell the Gucci sport coats have better finishing than Z Zegna material wise.. they have cooler buttons, cooler inside lining (i am not sure what is it called) and .. its GUCCI!! many celebs wear them thumbup.gif

Are you going for the basic "Su Misura" MTM or the "Couture" ?

The "Couture" is the one to get as it has a significant amount of hand detailing
*
i think its the basic su misura...

couture would be way out of budget blush.gif

even 10k is too much for me... make me think whether i should save abit more for rolex....

but the a good fitting ermenegildo zegna custom make to fit my body is irresistible too

i havent place the order yet .. they say it take 5 weeks for everything to be finish in italy

to place order need to pay rm5000 .. and the balance rm5000 after i receive the suit...

i have to go back to my hometown to discuss my financial situation with my parents ..
