I actually think we need to improve centerback part.
Skrtel is shaky most of the time... Agger is injury prone. Carra is slow. Krygiakos is inconsistent. The news of us trying to sign Garh Cahill is good.He has been impressing this season. |

I think the priority is a left back this summer. Insua is not ready for a full season and Aurelio's too injury-prone. How I wish Arby was still here as he could play as LB and RB. =/ It also seems that Degen will be offloaded, anybody still remember him?
A back-up striker and a centreback would be the next priority. |

We need a quality attacking left back like Bale and a proven striker like Villa
Interesting to see how much Rafa's given this transfer season |

QUOTE(skeleton202 @ Apr 20 2010, 11:54 AM) Like that 60 mil gone in no time. QUOTE(skeleton202 @ Apr 20 2010, 12:12 PM) Nowdays, most team don't play winger type of system. If Liv doesn't have striker good in the air or attack the crosses come in, the winger system is ineffective. Somemore, Rafa likes to play 1 striket upfront only, so I don't think winger system is suitable. I would say build up the team morale first is the priority, you must have a dressing room or players that are full of confidence, willing to fight and determine. You spent 100 million also no use if the team cannot gel and players don't have confidence in what they are doing. And most importantly, don't buy injury prone players. Or don't buy current injured player. And one thing is that let the player plays and has their own creativity, in football, although discipline in playing is very important, sometimes, manager needs to let player express themselves has some freedom to perform in the pitch, unless they are making huge mistake which need to be corrected right away. If not, just let players play accordingly what had been told before the match started. I don't like manager or coach to give instruction during the match, whenever I play (not in football), unless some urgent issue need to be corrected (or change of tactic )which could be vital for the match outcome. It affected my game if constantly being told what to do this do that. |

Rafa Benitez believes there are already signs that our new-look Academy is producing exciting talent.
The gaffer instigated big changes down in Kirkby last summer, with the likes of Frank McParland, Kenny Dalglish, Pep Segura and Rodolfo Borrell being drafted in. One player they are nurturing is 15-year-old left-back Jack Robinson, who was invited to train with the first team last week. Benitez is hopeful the teenager and several other Academy scholars will soon be ready to train regularly alongside the likes of Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard. "Jack was okay," the boss told Liverpoolfc.tv. "He was a little bit shy at first, a little bit quiet. But the senior players were helping and supporting him. The first training session is never easy but little by little he was better. "We have to go one step at a time, they have to progress through different teams, but it's always important to meet someone and give the others the message that they can progress if they're doing well. It's a good message for the others now because they have extra motivation. "We didn't have too many players of the level we were expecting but now the atmosphere is really good and we have more players with quality. "They have some players in each group and the other day I got a report with different names and different players - but still they are young so they have to keep working very hard if they want to be in the Reserves and then the first team." Asked what changes had been made at the Academy since last summer, Benitez added: "When I talk with them it's clear they're doing a very good job and all the staff are working very hard to improve and change things. We are really pleased with them. "We are trying for a different approach in training sessions. The mentality and the way they have to behave is more or less the same because it already wasn't bad. "The technical plan and how to push the players is now a little bit better." u can take watever time u need rafa!!..rome wasnt built in one day |

QUOTE(cherroy @ Apr 20 2010, 03:14 PM) Like that 60 mil gone in no time. Ditto. I'm surprised how fragile our mentality can be this season, even in interviews you pick up hints that the players already throw in their towels. Eg. Nando's constant complaining of lack of quality players, Stevie devastated with Alonso's departure, Rafa's "Lower fan's expectations" comments. When everything goes wrong, the team broke down so easily and never recovered since.Nowdays, most team don't play winger type of system. I don't like manager or coach to give instruction during the match, whenever I play (not in football), unless some urgent issue need to be corrected (or change of tactic )which could be vital for the match outcome. It affected my game if constantly being told what to do this do that. Couldn't agree more on the injury prone players. No doubt Aqua's a quality player, but Rafa holding him back isn't doing him any good. If you don't want to gamble on an injury prone player, then why buy him in the first place? Thought we should have went for Sneijder instead. Interesting you should mentioned the bolded part as the interview with Glen Johnson highlighted this: QUOTE You have played under several top managers - who gives the most detailed instructions before a game and have you ever been told just to go out and express yourself? Certain weeks, a lot of managers will say that and how it's more about what we do than what the opposition do. Sometimes managers do say just worry about yourself - go out there, express yourself and relax. Rafa is quite relaxed before a game and he doesn't drill too many instructions into us because the lads know what they need to do. There is only so much telling we need because we're all professionals, motivated for the game and want to win. Once we cross the white line, it's pretty much down to the players anyway. http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news...lled-by-kopites |

We know what we needs, but unfortunately each season we will always surprise with signing youth players from abroad. Then after that no news, again in senior side we sign some players who is so so and doesn't preform well. I wonder it is our youth team so terrible until can't even play a matches in the EPL or senior game.
