then again, theres also *COMPLETE* home hi-fi setups (specialized sound proofed rooms etc, those are gonna cost you a friggin bomb) which are no doubt even more expensive than ICE.

well its a dilemma for me, the car is a no brainer for me during my journey back home. its when im at my pc, i can no longer use the g500 to listen to music, and im not quite fond of headphones for long hours. that, and watching anime/movies/gaming with the headphone just cannot compare to a full 5.1 speaker set sad.gif

AD700 what you tested is much more to virgin/new. AD700 can be go further/extend on bass more deeper and wider soundstage. AD700 is just a next step ahead for AD500. My Advise for entry level is AD300 > Then medium range =AD700 >more juicy and more extend till max > AD2000

say if i have a budget of rm300, i shld just get the ad300 instead the ad500?

aight aight thx for the advice bro

however, these are my requirements i posted in the recommendation thread earlier

would ad300 suffice?

as per below:

Hi guys, i'm looking for a headphone with the budget of rm200 - rm300

The music that i listen to is ranging from eminem to linkin park to mariah carey and everything in between

currently have a phillips shp2700 which umm, dsnt satisfy me me at all sonically after having my sound magic pl-50 iem

i still do use my iem but would prefer a headphone as it's easy to put on n take off

any suggestions? prefer one that has better sq than the pl-50

p/s: other significant preferences are wide sound stage for the background music, and good bass for some rap rock thumping as well as clarity for me to jizz over mariah's voice n most importantly, gotta be comfy on the ear n head for long hrs

Hey forgot to tell you to add me in the list.
Owner of ATH AD-700.

Boom Boom,
Still prefer Senn 595 compare to ATH-AD 700

what i can say ATH-AD 700 very high on treble bass is moderate.
It is low watt usage. means any portable device could support it being full sound quality.

I Love my ATH -AD 700 and my Senn 595
for ATh-AD 700 the price is cheap =) u can get it RM 400+ online

Suffice? i would says yes. AD300 is a entry level Audiophile range headphone. But if you need more certain extent bass then go for better one like AD700 but for me AD300 just a nice budget headphone and had a certain bass and money for me. I also owned this unit before. would be good to entry level.

The price of AD700 is depend on region and some it might cheaper a bit but not as cheap as RM400 i would see. Please check and authentic weather is genuine or not. AD700 have alot fake version in the market. beware. if you happen never listen to AD700 before the sound or driver can be clone and is not as good as original and the sounding is much 5 linggit sounding. much harsh/not balance in certain level.

Try to burn-in more hours. sounding will change to a certain smooth level. roughly around 500hours or more..

Hey all, been using ATH-W1000 + DAC-1 + GoVibe Sharap for almost a year now.

Sometimes, I do hear hisses(not sure if its due to the low powered battery amp).

Should I upgrade to a desktop AMP ?
or Should I get a new headphone and get a new amp?

Hi bro 2kia, what you like about the PL-50... only you yourself would know.
Buying AD300 without listening to it... would you like AD300 more than PL-50 then?
PL-50 have an unique sound signature, how is AD300? Better listen to them first. smile.gif

well, the pl-50 is the most exp pair that i ever heard in my small "audiophile" world, no complains bout the the sound quality as i've yet to try the higher end ones.. biggrin.gif love the sound to bits, except for the slightly non-boomy bass when i dun use it with the fiio e5

would like a pair of decent headphone cuz it's much easier to put on n take off while i'm using the desktop, n prefer a open-back one cuz i'm told it's usually more comfy for long hrs

There's headphone recommendation thread up there.
Since you asked here (Audio Technica Fan Club)... i will help other Fans answer. smile.gif
Get the ATH-M50!!! thumbup.gif

Honestly, you need to listen and test both to know which is more suitable for you.
Or at least the types of music genres you listen to, as well as the sound preference... so that the experts out there may give better suggestion. Me Noob.

if you're determined, save up for the time being, and when you have enough, plus a trip for KL/subang to visit jaben, try out the AD700/900. you will just forget about the AD300/500 tongue.gif tongue.gif

of course, the main purpose is to try out. if you think the AD500 (or 300) can satisfy you and you dont feel like paying the extra for 700/900, go ahead. or, you can try out other brands/models, and perhaps can find a more suitable headphone smile.gif
