Thanks for the suggestion, read through the thread in head-fi.

Looks like many ppl says that it has a synergy with W1000.
I wonder how it sounds like.
Its hard to imagine tongue.gif

Do you know what does low independence headphone mean ? how do I know if a headphone has a low or high independence ?

Btw, how can I get the best source possible out of a MacBook Pro to Yamamoto ? What cables do I need?

because IMO, MacBook is a good player.

okay the seller near my tiny island dsnt have the ad300

shld i get the ad500 instead? it's around rm360 compared to ad300's rm240

pretty much set on an open back design headphone, but testing em out personally would be outta the ques cuz my tiny lil island is just sad when it comes to audiophile stuff

y dun u get it from the dealer in lyn?

if you're determined, save up for the time being, and when you have enough, plus a trip for KL/subang to visit jaben, try out the AD700/900. you will just forget about the AD300/500 tongue.gif tongue.gif

of course, the main purpose is to try out. if you think the AD500 (or 300) can satisfy you and you dont feel like paying the extra for 700/900, go ahead. or, you can try out other brands/models, and perhaps can find a more suitable headphone smile.gif

i own an AD300 and AD900.. AD900 is like all-rounded, everything jz nice and good.. as for AD300, i love its bass more compared to AD900's.. and for someone wearing glasses like me, AD300 is actually more comfortable than AD900 for long time usage, the pads are thicker for AD300.. i can feel the drivers of AD900 pushing against my ears if i wear it for a long time.. well, jz my humble and novice opinion la.. blush.gif

well i listen to all sorts of anisong, so that "all rounded"ness is what i really need. and yes, the pads are quite a problem for pro-longed usage. that and i sweat a lot too, so in general, i dont really like headphones/earphones/IEM etc. still, its in a way more preferable to home hi-fi since i couldnt get a dedicated AV room so to speak.

that said, an easy solution for the AD900, is to get the AD1000 or AD2000 tongue.gif

low impedance headphone is example the ohm is below 100 OHM. Audio Technica woody is low impedance so that why i recommend this amp. Currently i'm using it is almost nearly 8 months. felt this amp is much better and improve more than my previous class A amp. Really designed for this ATs woody. If you purchase this amp it will come with Y cable (rca to mini). i think your mac is using mini jack. so it actually no necessary to get another cable cause the cable that package is from Audio Technica product itself. So is much premium i can say. nice cable which is also match certain portable player or CD player. Currently i'm using it with my Portable media (ipod modded) treated as a source out direct to this amp. Synergy W1000 really really musical. I can see you use almost a year mostly quiet frequent use daily? is yes mostly is good run in already. My unit is running for 3 years already. and reach to 2.5k hours run-in. The sound is much perfect for this amp. If you interested and want to know how is the sound, you may visit jaben malaysia at SS15 Subang Jaya to find out more. If not i can spent sometime with you to share my amp to you somewhere we can meet up. and subsequent you may have a change to listen another type of woody headphone that currently i collected. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

haha i got mine on march also. and i've listened to the AD1000 at jaben singapore, they also offered me to listen to the 2000, but i rejected as i'm quite poisoned by the 1000 already. dont see the point to go further since thats totally out of my budget (even the AD900 is already blowing my budget, but i just couldn't settle for anything less rofl)

if you're in malaysia, just make a trip to Jaben subang then smile.gif

Imo... the pl-50s are good, ADX00s are also good, how much better are ADX00s compare to pl-50s? hmm.gif
Imo... the pl-50s are very comfortable, ADX00s are also very comfortable, how much more comfy are ADX00s compare to pl-50? hmm.gif

AD700/ AD900 certainly do no have boomy bass compare to pl-50s.

QUOTE(2kia @ Apr 11 2011, 08:42 PM)
well, the pl-50 is the most exp pair that i ever heard in my small "audiophile" world, no complains bout the the sound quality as i've yet to try the higher end ones..  biggrin.gif love the sound to bits, except for the slightly non-boomy bass when i dun use it with the fiio e5

would like a pair of decent headphone cuz it's much easier to put on n take off while i'm using the desktop, n prefer a open-back one cuz i'm told it's usually more comfy for long hrs
