Thanks damonlbs. It seems that the McClicky + Brass does a better job. Almost all my twisty were upgraded to McClicky. How about the Surefire original clicky tail cap?

Going by % terms, I guess the V2 is as claimed. ThruNite claims the V2 is about 11% brighter than V1 (1000 vs 900 lumens). From selfbuilt's numbers the throw is 9% higher and ceiling bounce is 9.8% higher.
But the disappointing thing is that in absolute terms the OTF lumens is only 600 (vs 1000 as claimed). So ThruNite's claim is way overstated. This is not good. |

From selfbuilt's numbers the throw is 9% higher and ceiling bounce is 9.8% higher. According to bigchelis from CPF But the disappointing thing is that in absolute terms the OTF lumens is only 600 (vs 1000 as claimed). So ThruNite's claim is way overstated. This is not good. The Leggion II SST-50 did similar OTF and is driven at similar (3.5A) current, so now Catapult V2 is not alone. Bigchelis other tests with SST-50 lights showed they perform 500 OTF at 2.5~3A . Catapult V2 driven at 2.2 ~ 2.5A , but to get things really interesting you need to push these to 4.5A~5A. If SST-50 driven at 5A , Heat Sink will be a big problem . Thrunite advertise the MAx LED lumens is 1000 lumens from the spec of luminus SST-50 . When tested , the OTF Is 600 lumens . Thrunite never advertise OTF Lumens . A bit dissappointment with the output but at least Thrunite didnt cheat . ![]() This post has been edited by uncle wong: Jun 7 2010, 02:18 PM |
