I think I'll stick with the Zebralight SC52 as I can't find anything better for RM220. Talking about the size, intensity and also being able to use a single AA battery smile.gif

https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...5&hl=zebralight

Even the Amazon page is more expensive, not to mention the price of the newer SC52W.

Btw, not too sure whether to take the W version or not hmm.gif

Get the Neutral white version. The tint is more pleasing to the eyes biggrin.gif
With your naked eyes, you will be hard press to notice the 20 lumens advantage of the cool white over the neutral white.

It's okay biggrin.gif

I'm deciding on the Zebralight SC52 as I can grab it at only RM220 ! smile.gif

are you getting them from gadgetworld2u?

go try out then XD flex.gif laugh.gif

warm and cool is hard to choose especially when you are considering indoor vs outdoor

I personally go all cool for urban concrete but warm for grassy nature walk

May I know how's the flood capability of the Zebra Sc52? Better than others?

I read that the flood angle is 80 and hot spot is 12? Not sure if this is better than most or not.

Prefer flood type actually but if this flashlight is kinda balanced between the two types it's pretty ok with me too smile.gif

honestly I'd just tape scotch tape to make a full flood mule light if ever needed but the flood on zebralight are generally wide and useful for walking distance so it's ok.

ya, thats what i told him...put a diffuser on.
plus no idea what his usage is for also.
if want to flood also zebralight just ok only, from 2m distance maybe the beam about 2m wide with mostly hotspot.
while my tk09 with diffuser can flood much better.

the ea11 also floods just as well as the sc52, but with a tighter hotspot...but of cos thats at nearer normal walking distances.
when go to 20-50m out, the sc52 has a very obvious much wider beam...
while the ea11 can still light up stuff up to 100m or more away with stated specs of throw up to 190m...
the sc52 doesnt reach that far...if not mistaken its max throw only around 90m? at that range its just barely picking up much...let alone light stuff up.

anyway, the day nitecore releases an ea11 or similar with warm / neutral led...is when i will sell off my sc52...til then i'll just keep both tongue.gif

nitecore has diffuser to fit ea11.
for zebralight not much room to fit diffuser properly if u actually look at how close the button is to the edge already.

Wait a minute... I just noticed this.

I'm using The Eneloop regular white batteries and the XXX version. Can I get 900 lumens with the EA11 or max 300 Lumens with the SC52?

Attached Image

Nitecore EA11/EC11: EDC-lights, XM-L2(U2), IMR, max 900 lumens, (beam)shots, compare http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showth...m)shots-compare (Share from CM Browser)

Apparently IMR14500 produces much brighter light... One question, possible to charge this battery using Eneloop AA charger?

You will need a Li-Ion charger to charge IMR14500.
Your Eneloop charger is for Ni-MH battery only.

To get max 900 lumens from EA11, you will need IMR14500.
Eneloop will only give you 160 lumens, as per their specs.

For SC52, light output with 14500 batteries are the same except that the H1 is 535 lumens for the first minute and then step down to 300 lumens, while Eneloop starts at 300 lumens.

Thanks bro. AA can produce 300 lumens, that's pretty bright already right?

Just wondering how many lumens are those cheap pasar malam flashlights hmm.gif

By AA, they mean Eneloop XXX, not cap ayam battery biggrin.gif
The new ZL SC5 can go up to 500 lumens, but they are only design to take AA, and not 14500, unlike the SC52 that can still accept both.

im using 14500 in both my EA11 and SC52.
but anyway, this is with the eneloop white.

so both on max - EA11 @ 160L on left, SC52W @ 280L.
wall is 1.5m away.

EA11 looks about the same at that distance, as it has a slightly bigger and deeper reflector even tho it loses out on the lumens battle.

and just for fun.
TK09 @ 450L on left, SC52W @ 500L.
here u can already tell the TK09 is going to out-throw the SC52W.

300 lumens is a huge load for a single AA. More than enough to consider tactical self defense

You might get slightly more if you consider Energizer Lithium (silver and blue)
They cost around RM17 for a pair in most stores.

you should invest a 14500 brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif
A keeppower 840mAh along with an x-tar mc-1 charger with your choice of light (ea11 or sc52)

Get the pocket rocket in your hands rclxm9.gif

But I'm no fan of 14500 due to its low capacity and how most AA based lights are too small to handle the heat.
If you can get the battery just go for it. (Be sure you get protected ones as most AA lights will continue to suck power from 14500 way below safe voltage and destroy your battery)

I would say most pasar malam lights (or lets say Sipik SK68 clone) is barely 80lm on fresh AA
You might get 140lm if your pasar malam light uses 3xAAA with those cheapo 1w LED light.

last time i bought a pasar malam led was around 7-8yrs ago...one of those fake 'police' branded ones...1xAA and around 10 lumens...but its still working and basically just sits in my car.
another one is those 3xAAA with 5 diff modes with laser/uv/green/etc...that one the white led puts out roughly 50 lumens tongue.gif
