Guys I might pull the trigger on the zebra light sc52 due to the side and it using 1 AA battery only. Any other alternatives to consider?

QUOTE(widget @ Sep 30 2015, 10:19 AM) I have the 1st gen SC600 since it was released back in 2011 or 12. Thanks. I think I changed my mind, prefer more flood type but a good throw distance is welcomed too. It has served me well all these years, and has never give me any problem whatsoever. If you want the SC600, rumour has it that the version3 will be launched soon, so you might want to hold your horses first. The SC52 is the old model, and the new model, the SC5, has a max output of 500 lumens. The thing with ZL is you are paying a premium for their brand. No doubt it is a true workhorse that seldom goes wrong, but if you're not using it as your daily beater, something cheaper might serves your better. But if your heart is already set on ZL, just go for it Prefer AA because of convenience and the hopefully there's a good or around RM100 to RM150 as I will rarely use it What do you think about the Fenix E20 or E25? Both is RM 150 This post has been edited by -kytz-: Sep 30 2015, 10:59 AM |

Ok guys can recommend any good flood type flashlight?
I heard about the zebralight h602 with 120 degree angle but way out of budget. Looking for something below RM200, preferably around RM150 |

Talking about the size, intensity and also being able to use a single AA battery It has served me well all these years, and has never give me any problem whatsoever. If you want the SC600, rumour has it that the version3 will be launched soon, so you might want to hold your horses first. But if your heart is already set on ZL, just go for it https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...5&hl=zebralight Even the Amazon page is more expensive, not to mention the price of the newer SC52W. Btw, not too sure whether to take the W version or not This post has been edited by -kytz-: Sep 30 2015, 11:01 PM |

QUOTE(power911 @ Sep 30 2015, 11:16 PM) I might be a bit late to talk about Fenix E20 or E25 but the Thrunite Archer 1A V2 or 2A V2 is a killer over these Fenix lights. It's okay Fenix recently had an issue with their poor anodization. I would trust the Thrunite over Fenix for its durability and mode spacings I forgot, have you considered Olight S15 I'm deciding on the Zebralight SC52 as I can grab it at only RM220 ! |

May I know how's the flood capability of the Zebra Sc52? Better than others?
I read that the flood angle is 80 and hot spot is 12? Not sure if this is better than most or not. Prefer flood type actually but if this flashlight is kinda balanced between the two types it's pretty ok with me too |

QUOTE(power911 @ Oct 1 2015, 01:37 PM) honestly I'd just tape scotch tape to make a full flood mule light if ever needed but the flood on zebralight are generally wide and useful for walking distance so it's ok. QUOTE(Everdying @ Oct 1 2015, 02:54 PM) ya, thats what i told him...put a diffuser on. Ok I'll decide between Nitecore EA11 and Zebralight SC52 plus no idea what his usage is for also. if want to flood also zebralight just ok only, from 2m distance maybe the beam about 2m wide with mostly hotspot. while my tk09 with diffuser can flood much better. the ea11 also floods just as well as the sc52, but with a tighter hotspot...but of cos thats at nearer normal walking distances. when go to 20-50m out, the sc52 has a very obvious much wider beam... while the ea11 can still light up stuff up to 100m or more away with stated specs of throw up to 190m... the sc52 doesnt reach that far...if not mistaken its max throw only around 90m? at that range its just barely picking up much...let alone light stuff up. anyway, the day nitecore releases an ea11 or similar with warm / neutral led...is when i will sell off my sc52...til then i'll just keep both The diffuser can easily buy from eBay or some its and it's cheap right? |

Wait a minute... I just noticed this.
I'm using The Eneloop regular white batteries and the XXX version. Can I get 900 lumens with the EA11 or max 300 Lumens with the SC52? Nitecore EA11/EC11: EDC-lights, XM-L2(U2), IMR, max 900 lumens, (beam)shots, compare http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showth...m)shots-compare (Share from CM Browser) Apparently IMR14500 produces much brighter light... One question, possible to charge this battery using Eneloop AA charger? This post has been edited by -kytz-: Oct 1 2015, 06:02 PM |

QUOTE(widget @ Oct 1 2015, 07:41 PM) You will need a Li-Ion charger to charge IMR14500. Thanks bro. AA can produce 300 lumens, that's pretty bright already right?Your Eneloop charger is for Ni-MH battery only. To get max 900 lumens from EA11, you will need IMR14500. Eneloop will only give you 160 lumens, as per their specs. For SC52, light output with 14500 batteries are the same except that the H1 is 535 lumens for the first minute and then step down to 300 lumens, while Eneloop starts at 300 lumens. Just wondering how many lumens are those cheap pasar malam flashlights |

Any flash light to recommend below RM200?
-Something that can switch between flood and throw? -Lighter than 100g. -Casual use, also for travelling purposes. Kinda looking at Nitecore EC23/EC30... is Nitecore a good brand to start with? I'm a beginner |

QUOTE(pseudoblue @ Dec 19 2024, 10:59 AM) Nitecore EDC33, definitely a good light. The 4K lumens is only temporary due to its size. The real performance is 1k lumens. Build quality and heat management is good, Nitecore has improved on the ATR (Advance Temperature Regulation) for these series too. Note it has a very strong pocket clip. Check out reviews on Youtube. I got the EDC35 in the end and it is amazing lol. The battery life is crazy good too. I would say 1000 lumens is sufficient for most use case, walking out at night, looking for things etc |
