QUOTE(widget @ Sep 10 2015, 10:02 PM) I though I can start playing with my M2X-UT and TM16 this long weekend in Singapore, but the haze here is just terrible this past 2 days. At least in KL the thunderstorm in the morning or late afternoon managed to clear some of the haze. Build-quality wise, to me Nitecore still 1 rung lower than those lights made by Olight and Fenix. Maybe I'm just a bit biased as I have some lights made by these 2 brands since 2007/08 that still working fine. Nitecore is also very stingy with accessory for their TM16 when their other EDC lights like MH20, EC4, EC11 are generously equipped. For now, have to do with size comparison only with my other lights here. ![]() The haze will give nice visible beamshot. |

QUOTE(mr-2 @ Sep 17 2015, 04:48 PM) The haze will give nice visible beamshot. The head can warm pretty quick if using Turbo mode, but the High mode at closed to 2k lumens is good enough. The M2X-UT beam is pencil thin, so far walk about, not so useful but the head doesn't get warm quickly when on Turbo mode. My M2X is the new version, i.e. not the real domeless emitter when it was first launched, but still have the green tint. So tint snob might not like the beam colour. And this just in, the baby brother of M2X, the S1 Baton. Size comparison with the Javelot. ![]() It's just so tiny, but pack a powerful punch. Kecil, kecil cili padi Just like holding an 18650 cell as a torchlight This post has been edited by widget: Sep 17 2015, 06:22 PM |

Those P60 styled are classic, evergreen.
Any more classic, and you need to go back to Maglite 2x D cell light I think I'm done buying normal light, and should start looking at custom light. Btw, looking only |

QUOTE(widget @ Sep 18 2015, 12:16 PM) Those P60 styled are classic, evergreen. ooohhhoho custom can be cheap but expensive too Any more classic, and you need to go back to Maglite 2x D cell light I think I'm done buying normal light, and should start looking at custom light. Btw, looking only with all these p60 mods I've played on this host alone (failed and success) it easily shoots beyond the price of a fenix pd35 Talk about Maglite, I happen to have a fake 3D maglite modded with a standard MR16 3W module. And it's been staying as my weapon in my car. ![]() Incans are best but I got bored of its ugly beam profile so this had to go. ![]() ![]() I got this MR16 3w for around RM8 shipped from fasttech if I'm not mistaken. Aliexpress sells them cheaper though. ![]() Still maintaining the alkalines as it has more weight than a pair of 26650. Plus I'm direct driving 3 of the puny 1W LEDs inside parallel. ![]() Easy power with easy brightness. More than enough to blind people. (Estimated 180-330 lumens) ![]() Really floody for this light. Clean beam and still visible even under 4pm sunlight ![]() I really liked how it served me very well inside my car. The classic weight of it makes me confident that I could break a skull or two if I hit someone with this. Plus with that brightness I could blind someone and drive away if needed. |

So many drops-in module for P60, from affordable to "can buy another Surefire" pricing, can scare newbies from venturing into this category unless they know what they are looking for or have a fixed budget.
As for Mag, the 3D or 4D are best kept in the car. At least if got stopped in some roadblock, easier to answer to the police, compared to a baseball bat or a Rambo knife. |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 29 2015, 03:18 PM) i just bought a nitecore EA11. bro..i hope u bought it during the sales period..coz i bought 1 as well..at around RM80+ only..as opposed to it's original price of RM300 or so.. this thing is amazing with 14500, throw distance is just as good as my fenix tk09. only reason why im still keeping the tk09 cos its a tactical light. but my zebralight sc52 is in danger of being flipped soon. then again it does have advantages of being smaller and lighter, and very good moonlight mode. EA11 only 1 lumen lowest, but it makes up for it with a red led that is as good as having a moonlight mode. hmm...decisions |

Guys I might pull the trigger on the zebra light sc52 due to the side and it using 1 AA battery only. Any other alternatives to consider?
I'll be using my Eneloop XXX Or the older brother SC600 is worth the jump in price? This post has been edited by -kytz-: Sep 29 2015, 11:44 PM |

SC52 is using an old XML emitterI'll be using my Eneloop XXX Or the older brother SC600 is worth the jump in price? you might need to consider something brighter since you are only using eneloops (plus zebralight is kinda pricy like $60? and the SC600 is like $90? Not to forget the SC600 is an 18650 light. Not an AA or AAA light I'm not sure what do you like about the Zebralight but I would suggest Thrunite Archer 1A V2 You can get it in cool white or neutral white (cool white in XPL but neutral would be XPG2 in around 4C tint) Plus it is much more affordable in price and it has a very useful ultra low moonlight mode for night time use. Other alternatives would be Nitecore EA11 as it has useful additional modes to play/showoff/use Also this has a battery charge indicator in case you wanna check for voltage. Choose your poison. I'd suggest thrunite as their customer service is excellent. This post has been edited by power911: Sep 30 2015, 12:34 AM |

It has served me well all these years, and has never give me any problem whatsoever. If you want the SC600, rumour has it that the version3 will be launched soon, so you might want to hold your horses first. The SC52 is the old model, and the new model, the SC5, has a max output of 500 lumens. The thing with ZL is you are paying a premium for their brand. No doubt it is a true workhorse that seldom goes wrong, but if you're not using it as your daily beater, something cheaper might serves your better. But if your heart is already set on ZL, just go for it |

I think I changed my mind, prefer more flood type but a good throw distance is welcomed too. It has served me well all these years, and has never give me any problem whatsoever. Both is RM 150 This post has been edited by -kytz-: Sep 30 2015, 10:59 AM |
