Full regulated means the light will be on constant brightness, but suffer shorter run time, as a small light, battery runtime is important, IMHO, so I will not asked for fully regulated circuit.

Buy the 47 mini 123, haha I have 3  wub.gif

They both go VERY HOT!

The diff. is that Ti stays hot in the head. Heat does not move well. Alu transfers much better.

Alu is better for the LED. Ti is tougher overall and more durable but scratches VERY (mirror polished) easily.

Alu threads are MUCH smoother.

Ti is more exp. (duh?).

Ti is prettier and more exotic.

I think I covered pretty much everything.

Oh yea 1 more. Ti has a longer waiting period than alu, wahahhaa! icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi Capiche, it's not a matter of how hot it becomes but how fast it'll dissipate heat. Titanium is not a good heat sinking material as aluminum. Although tougher, it does shine cosmetically better wink.gif

If you know how to effectively manage the heat on the Quark Mini 123 Ti then it should be fine. Personally from my own research, it's okay to run the Mini 123 Titanium on high, but there's a lot of heat back-firing it overtime. XPG LEDs are very heat tolerant, and more tolerant than XPE or XRE. But they do still degrade by excessive heat, especially trapped heat. Degradation may not be noticed from the phosphor but it is unseen and it happens on the LED chip. You may not get the full life potential of 30,000 - 50,000 hours.

On practice, I don’t think I’ll let the Mini 123 Ti run on high more than 2 minutes. Perhaps this is already sufficient in whatever you’re doing? I’m using the Mini 123 aluminum and it’s mostly used on medium. But, given in an emergency situation where you really need the Ti to run more than 2 minutes, perhaps it can go up to 10 or until the battery depletes.

cause i'm gonna tag the MiNi123 along with my keys.. so gonna take quite amount of abuse... worry AL will chip overtime.. Cos since Ti is not coated at all, thus, after long time is still gonna stay basically the same except for some battlefield scars.. biggrin.gif cos i have a Sandisk Cruzer Ti.. and i extremely like it biggrin.gif

anyway, what sifu means by longer waiting period? means i cant get Ti on 29th Oct?

extremely sorry polkiuj bro.. keep changing my mind.. sad.gif

Hi sifu, may i know what u mean by heat management?

actually, my prime concern is the coating, as i gonna tag it along with my keys, and i have weird behaviour where i prefer things to look like its original state even after years of usage... laugh.gif

back to thinking again i guess.

Ok, I’m not sure how the Quark Ti will hold up in your keys. I’ve seen how the LiteFlux LF2XT hold up against a bunch of keys though and they hold up pretty darn well. It’s aluminum! That light is special somehow.

About heat management, you can control it by time, like I’ve suggested not to run the Quark Ti no longer than 2 minutes on high.

I can tell you from experience that the anodizing on aluminium models of the Quark MiNi series will NOT hold up well on your key-chain. After a month or two, my MiNi AA looked like it's been hanging from my key-chain for a few years. Although for some this is not necessarily a bad thing! It gives the light character wub.gif

Your preference for things to look like original after years of usage leaves you only with the choice of the Ti MiNi, as scratches in Ti can be polished out! thumbup.gif
