15/03/2010: Went to TMPoint Serdang to collect the form and get to know the requirements. I was informed that I have several 4Mbps port available in my housing area.
17/03/2010: Went to TMPoint Serdang again to submit the form with all the requirements needed. Since Streamyx was under my name, it was categorized as an 'upgrade' which is easier and faster. 23/03/2010: The technician showed up to install the FREE WiFi modem with 4Mbps. However, due to problems with my line's attenuation and noise margin, seemed like the 4Mbps is not viable. He told me to come over the next day to further troubleshoot the problem. 25/03/2010: Called the technician to come since yesterday he didn't come. About the next day or so, I kept sms/call him to pay me a visit regarding the issue and he said he will but never did. 29/03/2010: Went to TMPoint Serdang again to tell them what I should be doing now? Apply for slower speed or wait for the technician to try to eliminate problem and retry to install 4Mbps again? The TM officer called the technician and the technician said within the next 3 days, a cable expert guy will come over to try to fix the problem. 01/04/2010: Smsed/called the technician again to bring over the cable guy. No respond. 06/04/2010: He picked up my call and said he'll show me the problem in person this Saturday coz I have never met him before because it was my brother who allowed him to install on 23rd. 09/04/2010: Went to TMPoint Serdang to cancel my previous application for 4Mbps to a slower speed 1Mbps so that I can get the netbook quicker I suppose. But things were never on my side. Their system was offline and they can't process a single transaction/application/etc.. No wonder no customer in the premise when I entered. 10/04/2010: Went to TMPoint Kajang (since they open on Saturday) to apply for 1Mbps. When it was my turn, my luck ran away in haste. The system was very slow to the point it was impossible to submit the data that has been keyed-in. Instead, they photostated my application form and said they'd submit them again once the system is fine. I begged them to process my application as fast as they can coz I'm done with waiting. I don't whether they take my words seriously or not. Fuhh.. So bad la my luck.. The difficulty level was maybe similar to those people who need to terminate their line first. I'm a student at Malacca and that's why I can only come to TMPoint on Monday or Friday since these two days I have no class. -UPDATE- 14/04/2010: Received a call from TM Point Kajang and ask bout my details a bit more. By night, I checked mips.tm.net.my and saw my order was successful and my upgrade status is being processed. Until today (19 April), I received no email/mail/call from TM whatsoever. When will I be getting my netbook and Streamyx Zone ID and Hypptunes thingy? So, it's been more than a month now. And now I saw this in front of my house.. Does it mean I will be able to apply for 4Mbps soon? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by lowyard: Apr 19 2010, 02:59 PM |

I was informed that I have several 4Mbps port available in my housing area. I don't think that's copper broadband. I think the sign said u can support high speed broadband or HSSB which uses fiber optic instead of copper line. As for the cool uni pack you are still using copper line. But you can still try to apply. TM is very smart in doing business that's y the 30 days quarantine is there.17/03/2010: Went to TMPoint Serdang again to submit the form with all the requirements needed. Is there anyone here know whether registering for 2nd homeline need any additional wiring by tm? Just now they told me that 1 line can support 1 homeline only. I will terminate the old line once the unipack is approved so is there any one succesfully apply two line without extra wiring?

Guys,to those who already received the laptop, this is very important for you guys to know and for those who havent receive the laptop yet.
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/weInput...0033108&lang=en Make sure register ur product into online warranty and check the above links for warranty status. I received my laptop on April 17th and i jst registered in the website. It posted factory warranty till June 12th,2011. I called up Streamyx customer care hotline they told me is 2 years warranty, even stated in the website. I called HP customer care hotline they told me is 1 year. However, the order summary state that it is 2 years. Its a huge confusion when comes to warranty claim later. So,i advice u guys, ask properly when register Streamyx cool uni pack for this laptop warranty as i meet this situation now. Whoever have comments and advice Im so appreciate it. One more question is, I checked online to upgrade HP manufactured 2 GB ram is RM 600,if upgrade from others like KINGSTON,will it void warranty anot and to reformat into higher version of Windows 7 will it void warranty also ? I cant get to the customer care hotline as alot people is asking bout their order status, Thank you. |

Upgrade it yourself and it won't break the warranty. I've experienced it with CQ40.. Got prob and i opened them and checked the ram is problematic and when i send for warranty, they wanna inspect it for a few days. I just wanna tell them that the ram is faulty but i'm afraid they will suspect me open the laptop first so i just went silent. After 2 weeks, they replaced the faulty ram with new 1. Moral of the story is if there's no stickers at the place u wanna open, then it's ok to do self upgrade.

wow the 2gb ram is so expensive. I don't think there is any problem in upgrading the ram ourselves. Please share your story later. Just for your info the netbook max ram is 2gb ddr2 667mhz ram. If upgrade ourselves it dooesn't cost much. just warranty part i don't know.

Hmm, can we upgrade to UniFi even we're still under the 2 years contract with this Unipack? Will we get penalized?

Goodquestion but if i'm not mistaken, u can coz the contract only forbids you from terminating their service.

HP order status. Anyway,i called up them. Ideally yes, upgrade ownself warranty void. Secondly,on the laptop there is no sticker at the bottom and there is no slot to put it like other laptop does. Have to open up 4 screws to open the piece and the ram is on the board. I have not personally open it and i suspect its like a timebomb, there is a sticker actually sticking btw the cover plate and the board, once u open the sticker will tear off,i would not wan to take the risk coz its a 2 years warranty. 1 KINGSTON 2GB ram is RM 170 and HP 2GB ram is RM 600,notebook ram. I dont know bout the sticker part actually,so plz dont treat as wat i say might be true, jst in my opinion only This post has been edited by ndrew89: Apr 19 2010, 05:27 PM |

hmm could be but how did they put the sticker in between them in the first place? i think they're user upgradeable parts like dell mini9 that clearly allows it without voiding warranty.
