QUOTE(ronramka @ Apr 28 2010, 09:26 AM) i'm sure multitasking can run on 3G but when u installed tons of apps, then we will be facing the lag issue I don't understand .... why Apple has to lie ppl that telling some features like multitasking only available on 3GS model ? QUOTE iPhone OS 4 Compatibility http://www.apple.com/iphone/preview-iphone-os/iPhone OS 4 will work with iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and the second- and third-generation iPod touch this summer, and with iPad in the fall. Not all features are compatible with all devices. For example, multitasking is available only with iPhone 3GS and the third-generation iPod touch (32GB and 64GB models from late 2009). |

i already find my 3G is lagging on certain graphic-intensive games (Riddim Ribbon mainly) and so I'm not suprised that multi-tasking (which would need more RAM) is only for 3G[S] and iPod touch G3.

if they say 3g not supported then owner of 3g will complaint.
if they say 3g supported but lag a lot owner of 3g will also complaint. so better not supported at all. just get a 3gs. its a hardware limitation on 3g, owner of 3g have to accept that. i prefer something that is running smoothly, lagginess could result in the phone flying into the wall |

seriously though there isnt any conspiracy theory to leave out iPhone 3G owners, you guys got OS2 and 3, and that went seamless enough though at times OS3 on an iphone 3G is lil bit laggy. In other related news try to install a latest symbian on a 2 year model N series, i might not be surprised a few month old model can't support it.

its quite simple actually.
when you purchased (as I did) an iPhone 3G, it came with 2.x software. Apple provided an upgrade to 3.0 for no extra charges. for the 4.0, new hardware is required to fully utilise all the new functions. its like a Mac actually. for the 3G[S] owners, they started out with 3.0 software, and the 4.0 is their free upgrade. additional features, *all* working. next year, will be 5.0 and the 3G will be completely *un*supported, 3G[S] will be partially-supported, and there'll be a new model which will have full support < the last part is speculation |

QUOTE(Kain_Sicilian @ Apr 28 2010, 08:26 PM) I don't think they would implement that. This is because I have been with most iPods, and the visualizers aren't there. If its not there in the beginning, I wouldn't think it would be important enough for them, just like the floppy disks not in any iMacs last time. |

The iTunes update 9.1.1 is just for bug fixes and security issues. They did not include any new OS supports or anything like that. At least, its not on the update features. Your assumption is based on what? I don't really recall every iTunes update and simultaneously new iPhone OS comes :S
