I personally experienced this while helping my colleague to upgrade her 3G to iOS4. Backup ran for almost an hour and not even 5%....grrrr! So I gave up and cancel the upgrade

cannot change... malaysia account is for malaysian itunes only...

u have to create new US itunes account... that's the only way to install the apps from US itunes

i dont think thats a problem... the itunes will backup all your stuff... (which means its going to be a hell long wait)
i have to authorize computer... one at home and one at office.... i dont encounter any problem as for now lar...

Ok.. I got another question...
My fren just updated the iOS4, but it takes so loonggg to install into the iPhone...
The iPhone goes black with apple logo and with the meter on 1 bar only...
It took almost three hours.. and now the iPhone can't be on or off (since he already took it off, due he needs to go out)
why huh? anyone can help me to help my fren

That's why before u upgrade u need to power down and power up then flash it

this is the problem... when updating fw... one thing u need is PATIENTS... and lots of it...
some times it is long due to our own data that is too much (such as SMS, contacts and lots and lots of apps) u need to be a bit patient when come to this part.... it is time consuming.... but yet it is worth it...

Try to download a few free books, but never completed.

anybody experrineced the missing icons problem ? like for exam ple the settings icon square is there , but the settings icon picture picture is missing leaving only a blurred square ?

2. in my office, I can download within 1 hour. at cybercafe last night, within 30 minutes
3. power down = switch off the phone. power up, switch it back on. flash it = restore the OS. This process is pointless, just make sure to backup your iPhone via iTunes first, and go ahead.

i can see some ppl have some problem update to 4.0

lucky my on is no problem at all

all i can see is always update using you iTune ^^ plus the best part all my sms still there la ^^ haha ty to iTune kiki.

i also experienced the problem as well. stuck at 1 bar on the iphone n the upgrading process took damn long, didnt take note how many hours.
then for some reason my itunes froze

then my iphone stuck in DFU mode...which i just restore n update again the 2nd time n everything back to normal.

shouldnt be a big problem. maybe just restart your phone n update again like MX510 mentioned.

No problem with my update (running since this early early morning ) but i notice battery depleting faster than before update. Maybe due to apps open in multitasking ........

Currently updated to iOS 4 no problem for me. =D

multitasking doesn't work on ebuddy and skype.
hopefully it will support multitask in future
