Very nice. Congrats.

So you got the rock from one place and then took it to Tiffany & Co to set? Didn't know Tiffany does that.

I download pictures of the Tiffany setting (it's quite a popular setting) and got them (DeGem) to design it according to it.

Good to know DeGem can do that for you.

It's a platinum ring right? How much did DeGem charge for the ring itself?

Yes, it is a platinum, the default is white gold as usual, but my SO had experience some reactions before with a white gold so I didn't want to take that chance.. They didn't exactly broke it down for me, but from our discussions of the options, I guess platinum would have been around 1-1.5k?

I think that is the ballpark figure for platinum ring nowadays.

A decade ago a 18k white gold Tiffany-style ring from Carat Club was RM485.

I've been asked not to reveal the real pricing, but I'll tell you its in the range of 10k-20k.

I think white gold is still relatively cheap. I was pushing to see if they carry palladium, but I think the jewelers are not keen due to the cheap price but stronger material.

They can't go an exact copy out of copyright infringement, I think. Tiffany's look nice, but it looks slightly weird to me when put on a larger stone. Though nicer than the 4 prongs classic setting.

this are all establish chain, why not look at custom jewel from local jewelry.

more customization, probable truely one of a kind, and most importantly, the prices are not inflated overly.

No worries bro, I just went through the same experience cry.gif .. First of all, you have to establish a budget and if possible, the type of ring your gf wants. Then can carry on from there.

I think best way is to drop by some shops and look at their designs and also decide how much you want to spend. Don't need to malu bro, you are a potential customer to them. Just take your time. Don't be tempted by their 30%, 40% discounts etc... its just a sales pitch. Visit a few shops and you should get a rough idea what you are after.

Yes Lazare is more expensive due to both the brand and their ideal cut. You could say Lazare built their brand based on the ideal cut.

However, like you said it is possible to find similarly well cut diamonds (I guess GIA 3ex is quite similar) without paying the brand premium for Lazare.

I'm currently looking for an engagement ring budget around 8-10k.
Would Lazare be a better choice compared to Forevermark? How about DP Estrella?

I personally like Forevermark and their signature ring.
But at that time they doesn't have the specific 4c i was looking for.....so i ended up with Wah Chan.
I was looking for F color, and 3EX. But at that time they only have G and 2EX.
