well the stone will oxidase hence the color will chg over the times (a very long time) since you are not selling it and buying to wear a long time so better color is much worth

T&C above 1 carat only got certificate. DP and LC not all product got GIA or IGI  mostly is in house rating. Are you intend to sell ? At first I very keen on having GIA OR IGI when we say this most sales person know we are water fish and naive 1. If you are buying a single 1carat stone (diamond stone) yes certificate is important cost maybe you wan resell or buy to keep for future.

You sure? I bought a couple from them for my wife. Bigger and smaller than 1 carat, both came with certs.

I did. Sounds kinda strange that they don't provide certificates at Pavillion for smaller diamonds. hmm.gif

Hi all,

Does anyone know if all degem lazare diamond are certified in house instead of GIA?

Is lazare diamond's ideal cut better than those 3ex by GIA in terms of sparkle and fire or they are just about the same?

Any sifu can comment on that?

I just started to look for my engagement ring and I'm looking for a ring within 8-10k.
My priority would be cut > carat > colour > clarity.
I would go for the best cut, colour f to h, clarity vs1 to vs2 and the biggest carat within that budget.
Anyone has come across any stones with similar specs? How big carat that I can get for that budget?

I was quoted by degem
Lazare, ideal cut, 0.42, G, VS1, rm9k
Is that worth it?

I know I can get better specs in Wah Chan with similar budget.
Does the lazare brand name (or because of the ideal cut) justify its price?

Thanks

Buying diamond is like choosing wife. Degem brand are expensive hence you cannot compare to different category. Lazare can compare with forevermark

Before I bought a proposal ring I was considering Forevermark and WahChan. I decided to go with Wah Chan 0.6,F,VS2,3EX,Non-Flourescent, GIA. 9k. Reason is I don't expect my wife to wear solitaire daily.

Lazard and Forevermark is 25% more for same spec. Regardless how much sparkle you see with your eye, do consider the ring too. Once the diamond is set, it will block some light hence reducing the sparkle.

With the money saved I spend on Cartier Trinity Wedding band which we use daily.

Unless you have extra cash then both wedding band and proposal ring can be branded.

Haha, your analogy of buying diamond sounds weird to me. laugh.gif
I understand that lazare is more expensive compared to Wah Chan but I wonder is lazare more expensive due to just the brand or the lazare's ideal cut? I personally think that the lazare's ideal cut is not much different from the 3ex cut by GIA. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks for sharing, bro. thumbup.gif
Seems like one can get 0.6 carat from Wah Chan vs 0.4 from lazare with more or less similar specs and budget.
I was told that the lazare is about 20 to 30% more expensive than forevermark.

In fact I have same thought too, still considering whether to get the solitaire from poh kong or wah chan and save some money for branded wedding band. blush.gif
Mind to share how much is your cartier trinity?

As a normal ppl we don't really can compare the ideal cut. We heard those sales ppl like this nicer 1 nah see see ah like this. Hence our brain say ya wor seem nicer by abit wor this and that. All cert also part of the marketing skim, you are not resell it so house grading or GIA IAI all are not really essential. What matter is the design, color and size.

U went to few diamond shop and decide to go for degem forevermark or love & co lovemark
Love & co lovemark diamond is ideal cut wirh IGI cert which the saleperson said is better then 3EX
Degem forevermark is it self grading which the sale person said is better than GIA.
I like love & co ring design but prefer forevermark diamond due to its recognize international brand. Both price almost the same.
Any suggestion?

Cartier TRINITY Classic, rm4700 (each)

Price for your reference. FYI, Yearly increase of 10% (Malaysia) is coming in March 2014. Get it before March.
Initially i wanted to buy it from Cartier Tokyo during my Japan trip, but price revised 10% up in 17 Jan 14. I was there in Feb....sigh....

It depend on your point of view on the cert. If you check the stone is ok then cert are not needed since you are not selling it. otherwise then go with recognize cert

I got 2 choice.
Degem forevermark 0.28c F SI1 Rm 26xx or
Love n co lovemark 0.23 H vs2 Rm 30xx
I like the love n co ring design which is more fashion. Forevermark ring is more classic.

Hmm...forevermark seems like a better deal to me if the cut is similar for both, but just choose love n co if you think she will like the design wink.gif
Love n co has nice design? Gonna pay a visit when I have time nod.gif

I will only consider the 2nd one if resetting the setting doesn't cost too much extra charge . Just my 2 cents smile.gif
