Hi all,

Does anyone know if all degem lazare diamond are certified in house instead of GIA?

Is lazare diamond's ideal cut better than those 3ex by GIA in terms of sparkle and fire or they are just about the same?

Any sifu can comment on that?

I just started to look for my engagement ring and I'm looking for a ring within 8-10k.
My priority would be cut > carat > colour > clarity.
I would go for the best cut, colour f to h, clarity vs1 to vs2 and the biggest carat within that budget.
Anyone has come across any stones with similar specs? How big carat that I can get for that budget?

I was quoted by degem
Lazare, ideal cut, 0.42, G, VS1, rm9k
Is that worth it?

I know I can get better specs in Wah Chan with similar budget.
Does the lazare brand name (or because of the ideal cut) justify its price?

Thanks

did you manage to choose your ideal ring? still doubting whether to go for degem ideal cut or forevermark 3ex cut bridal setting

Hi all biggrin.gif

I'm new here and just a follower of this topic cos i like to know the latest prices of the diamonds in the market.

Just to share with u guys that my husband just bought me a simple ring forevermark 0.53ct G VS2 3ex for rm10,800.

I did some surveys for lose diamonds cos i'm thinking of buying one as a reward to myself if i got promoted (if HR agrees la i guess), good bonus and for delivering my baby (I'm due this early Dec smile.gif ). But im not planning to buy it really soon, still taking my time to window shop until i get the best bargain price.
(hehe that's the different using husband and own money)

This is what i've got throughout my recent surveys;

Wah Chan
GIA 0.70 VVS2 F 3Ex rm15,000.00
GIA 0.71 VS2 F 3Ex rm13,000.00
GIA 0.82 VVS E 3Ex rm19,150.00
GIA 0.81 VS2 F 3Ex rm15,500.00
GIA 0.80 VVS E 3Ex rm19,500.00
GIA 0.80 VVS E 3Ex rm16,300.00

And i think Degem has this 0.99ct GIA cert fancy-cut promotion starting from rm15,000.00. 8-18 August but i think they are extending it. Its for those who would like to buy different diamond shape other than the conventional round shape.

Buy something you can afford and within your budget. If 2.5-3K is your budget then get something in that price range.

I'm currently looking for an engagement ring budget around 8-10k.
Would Lazare be a better choice compared to Forevermark? How about DP Estrella?

With that budget I would go for Lazare..

It is now 2 years later and while I would expect the price for the same specs to be higher than RM2550 as paid by jackson041104, it should not be more than 25% higher.

Today, I went to survey some shops including Poh Kong, Habib, Diamond & Platinum and a few others before going to Wah Chan. Places like Poh Kong have an sticker price of RM6,800 for slightly better specs and a few others even more than RM8K. At those prices, I know there is no point haggling because my budget is no more than RM4K (around RM3.5K actually). Actually I am curious, typically by how many % can you haggle down those sticker prices?

When I was at Habib, I saw the exact specs for the diamond ONLY at RM3360.

Anyway, I went to Wah Chan and the exact specs sticker price for diamond ONLY is about RM4500. Of course, I told the salesman that it is too expensive and ask him to discount. He brought it down to RM3,800 but it is still too high. I then told him that two years ago, my friend got the white gold ring and diamond with the exact specs for about RM2700. And I even told him that Habib is selling their diamond ONLY at RM3360 but still the lowest he can do for diamond ONLY is RM3700. Ring is additional RM500 from what he told me.

Guys, anyone has any tips for Wah Chan. Anyone gone to Wah Chan recently and got a very good bargain from there?

I am disappointed that I can't even get about RM3500 for a ring and diamond of the same specs as jackson041104 when it is only 2 years since.

Hi pals,
I have just bought a diamond ring with the specs below from Wah Chan:
GIA cert
0.4 Carat
3 EX
Colour E
Clarity VS2
18k White gold
As it is stated as promotional price, i am wondering whether the diamond ring is really worth the value..
Price = RM 2550
