Hi sifus here,

the main entrance of my condo has a wooden structure being part of the partition between my and my heighour's entrance. My question is if i wanna intall grille to my unit, the edge of the grille door will need to be on that wooded structure, will the wooden structure be strong enough to hold the grille for security purpose?

otherwise just waste money on right?

thanks

Hi! Need all your advise here. Recently just quoted for house grille for window at RM9 psf and for sliding door at RM11psf. What you think about this price? Expensive or reasonable?
Please recommend if you have a reliable contractor for grille.
THANKS A LOT!

Material i reckon is Mild Steel with normal paint. What is the metal thickness?

Not sure. But I using a flat panel that look very thin from outside. According to the contractor, it's more trendy.

I felt being cheated. I paid RM4100 for my house grille (small double storey) and was told it's coated solid bar 1cmx1cm. However, after 5months, I see the rust start appearing. And when I knock knock on the bar, I feel like empty bar. How to verify whether it's really a solid bar? sad.gif

picture of your grill? dont know how to describe. usually its either hollow or solid bar. if solid you will feel heavy compared to hollow if you do check out his sample. But i think knocking also will determine hollow or solid by listening to the steel echo.

When I knock on the bar, kong kong kong, I realized it is hollow, though not 100% confirmed. I ever visited another grille supplier and feel the solid bar sample. Thus,, I conclude mine is not solid! I'm planning to confront the supplier. How should I tell them? Sigh...

do you have the quotation stated solid bar? if got black and white you can confront him but make sure you know 100% how to identify between hollow and solid difference if not they will try to 'goreng' you around the world.

when they goreng, you just cut that rusted potion..if hollow they compensate and re-do the entire house grille for you..if its solid you pay for new grille..
if they say rust free even though solid, you pay for that grille that you cut and they pay to rectify the rust for you

This is not built in grill. This is called leadlighting. Usually pieces of glass is used to make the whole piece for the window.
