QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Mar 25 2010, 10:48 AM) My friend in singapore told me last time they upgraded the speed they give to the current users free upgrade to be on par with international pricing standard DOn't know why people always compare to singapore. If you want to compare to singapore, let our broadband provider focus solely on Klang Valley ONLY. And yes, if they can focus only on that distrcit/area and disregards the other parts of Malaysia, then yes, we can be competitive to Singapore within a year.

QUOTE(g5sim @ Mar 25 2010, 11:36 AM) not true, the Pahang whats the name actually proposed a plan to install HSBB with no help from gomen but gomen rejected that proposal and decided to spend billions of rakyats money to assist TM on this project. This HSBB project was supposed to allow others to offer services via the fiber optic. Digi or Maxis for example can offer internet services via the HSBB project. it's called Jalenas. Actually i think the pm approved the building of it for the Kuantan area only so far. HSBB was a closed tender bid offered to tmnut. It was never offered to anyone else in an open bid. So how are we to blame other isps or lack off, when the MAIN CAUSE is because of our government not allowing any to compete with tmnut ???

QUOTE(keown83 @ Mar 25 2010, 11:31 AM) guys......... i think its not appropriate to rant about TM charges when at the same time, other ISPs dont wanna spend billions (or maybe dont even have that billions) budget to span their wings across Malaysia for better BB services.... well, TM spend up to RM9.1 billion for the project...did other ISPs have that budget range or maybe higher for their BB project..??? we've seen that call charges war has forced TM to reduced their landline charges up to "free-call nationwide"...i think y'all know hows the TM call charges in non-VOIP DEL copper era before... why dont we rant other ISPs also, because of their "KEDEKUTNESS" in doing their "corporate social responsibilities"(if they do have any) to Malaysians nationwide...??? 1) The billions from this HSBB project is sponsored by the Gov. Aka taxpayer's money. Aka OUR MONEY. Hey, if our Gov willing to have an open tender and give license to other service provider to do the job and sponsor whoever can get the best package at the most reasonable price, you think other ISP like Digi, Maxis etc cannot do?? Because the billions are handed over to TM for nothing, in which it is used to feed the crony ( who obviously wants to makan a lot and charge high price for substandard service). So in the end, instead of paying RM10 billion to do the same job, you need RM20 billion to do it. And who shall bear the cost? Why, the consumer of course.

It seems for SME, the package is better, but I doubt residential can apply for it. RM 200 for 5MBps package and with no limit.
Also, for all unify package, do noted that the maximum download allowed will be spread evenly for every day in the month. So fo 60GB, means you can only use 2GB per day. However, no mentioning what happen after that.
