QUOTE(Bonescythe @ Jun 2 2011, 12:54 PM) okie. The price I'm on board was 1.07. I realized SUNREIT is among the REIT that is most actively traded. i dono is this good or bad. But usually we should not see so big movement from REIT. Sunreit can swing 3 cents in a day compare to it's peer which move 0.5 cents to 1 cent.Anyway, this is the table for the list of REIT in Malaysia with the dividend yield. Judging from it, SUNREIT is the lowest yielding among it's peer. But the question I have now is that, how do they calculate the yiled? Sorry if I asked too much, because I'm practically new in REIT investment. Thank you in advance for those people who can enlighten me. http://mreit.reitdata.com/ |

Projected 1 year Total dividend from 4 quarters or 2 half yearly dividend, divide by the share price.Anyway, this is the table for the list of REIT in Malaysia with the dividend yield. Sorry if I asked too much, because I'm practically new in REIT investment. Thank you in advance for those people who can enlighten me. http://mreit.reitdata.com/ Example for SunReit. Assume each quarter paying out around 1.7 cent dividend, 1 year we can get 6.8 cents / share. Assuming the share price is at rm1.07 So yield will be 0.068/1.07 x 100% = 6.3% (Better than FDs definitely) REITs are purely for dividend play.. Is for people who have long long holding power, and can hold long long long. |

If we putting the over-supply of office beside, other REIT counters might get even more returns.Example for SunReit. Assume each quarter paying out around 1.7 cent dividend, 1 year we can get 6.8 cents / share. QUOTE(vergil90 @ Jun 8 2011, 11:04 AM) U must be holding 10000 shares. If that's the case, isn't that the conventional current cheque system is still better? At least we won't have any extra charges.10000 * 1.935 cents = RM 193.50 RM 193.50- RM 5.50 (bank and bursa charges) = RM 188 my holding a little more, so still can get > 1.9 cents after minus the charges |
