Give us options , like my media centre

Maintain aspect ratio

stretch to fit

zoom and fit and maintain aspect ratio

Give us some options rather then putting in two options la

I dunno - they said they would broadcast F1 on ESPN HD - and they did. did they say it was sourced from HD?

Right. That's very slick advertising on their end. Say it would be on HD channel, but purposely leave out the detail about it being NOT in HD. Cue gullible people who don't know better falling left and right. And the sad thing is, people cannot take legal action because they did deliver their promise of the race on HD channel.

It still looked okay in wide screen. I liked the fact that it was in widescreen and it was bit upscaled and it still did look neat. Bear in mind we get additional viewing space to view our content !

the fact thats its in ESPN HD instead of ESPN matters to me more than weather its HD or not. The colour is more accurate and sharp than standard SD picture. I dont mind if ASTRO want to upscale any more SD programme and lump it in the very uncrowded HD channels..

Regarding new HD channels,
I don't think the World Cup can be considered channels
Yes I know the World Cup has 5 channels set
But it is merely because some matches will take place at the same time
Astro will show all 64 matches LIVE so thats the reason for extra channels
I also think the total might be more or less than 5
The last World Cup had 8 channels..they had different camera angles of the matches on the 8 channels..
I also remember a channel for chat and news
So what I'm trying to say is the World Cup channels will be temporary only
So I dont think Astro consider that as a channel

I do believe new HD channels will be made available this year..
Maybe up to 10 channels like Astro said
But everyone must remember..someone said here that SKY in the Uk have had HD for 4 years now..
But they still only have 32 HD channels
N in Asia someone said only 8 or 9 HD channels only available
I know RAMChYLD said a CS staff said no more new channels this year..
Don take the words of the staff for granted..
They are just on the Customer Service department
Even TallJustin who works on the tech team at Astro doesnt know anything about new channels until it is launched
Basically the people who know about new channels will be the people at the programming department

Imagine if the whole of Astro staff know about new channels
N say one of them let the secret out in the public
Imagine how people will call Astro non stop asking when is launch, what channel is new and so on..
It will spread rumours and be chaotic to handle

So lets just wait and have an element of surprise when we get the new info on HD channels..
Anyways, there is no guarantee that the new HD channels will be available in ur subscription
Imagine a new HD channel for Dynasty package or Metro package or Variety package
I dont have the package so i wont get
So even if u are demanding it now and astro does launch new HD channel, tough luck u might not even get it..
So lets just wait and see k.. thumbup.gif

I think it is 1.1.2 (from 1.1.0)

there's a "fit to screen" option, but zoom disappears. I guess the 11 people who use it are going to be disappointed.

Ok now we can start ranting about astro gave bck fit to screen & pillar box but no zoom....haha

I haven't check yet but Wondering why take away the zoom-lah? Why not maintaining it as an option??

Good question !! now its just back to original status, I feel pillar box and zooming using Tv seettings to fit to screen was far better then now fit to screen using beyond, the Zoom option could have been left as an option. hmm.gif

Astro B.yond updated to v1.2s and Fit to screen is back and all SD channel is fitted nicely back with the screen width... HD channels is as usual crisp clear... at least Astro is doing something to fix it back wink.gif
