This player can customize zoom & aspect ratio?
*
yes it can.

smile.gif

another good feature is the continue play back from where you stop. any movies that you watch before, it will ask you whether want to continue from where you stop. This is cool. All movies, not just the last movie you watch.

one more is the find feature. just key in the time base on the total length of the movie, then enter. It takes you there without lag. is like less then a second. smile.gif

And for the sound format, I made it all raw. So all sound will be decoded at my AVR. Nice.

Now with this baby. my 40" Samsung LCd Ttrue HD looks really good.
Btw.. the mp4 files I got only around 2G. Interesting how the result looks like. Especially UP.
Will be testing DVD.ISO.

I dont have BD.ISO though. smile.gif
Adtionally, I think this new firmware have problem playing Youtube. The rest are ok.

Well would be great if you can really test 1080p files. 2G files usually won't pose much problem to process/stream. If the media player is unable to do it then it can be thrown into the trash bin!

Watching the movie UP on 1080p is much much more than interesting especially on your 40" Samsung LCd Ttrue HD!

I hate watching youtube on 40" panel.

Yeah... will test that later on larger file. 8G and above.

Testing the Bittorrent download. Hmm, is kinda slow. I purposely choose the most seeded files. Still is pretty slow.

I wonder if it can do open port? I cant find any port setting in BT page. Usually, open pod can make it even faster.

There is a separate little 4:3 button and 16:9 button. I find the 4:3 (Pan and Scan) very useful for watching old shaw brothers movies in full screen. No noticeable stretched images

Nope, I hardly hear the fan from where i sit. Of course you can hear it when you get nearer, but not like annoying sound. smile.gif

HDPro Media Player works almost perfectly. Although i have not play around with it very long time. However, i do notice a few things.

It seem not having a function like auto volume level (normalization on the fly). This end up i have to +/- vol when watching different files
I do wish to have this

auto switching between 16:9 and 4:3, although not necessary.

Well these r only my wishlist.

I tested the BT download. Really really slow. I guess it cant do a good job on this vs a computer. The highest speed I saw was around 1.5kb/s.

Also you may experience intermittent disconnect if you trasfering really large files thru network to HDPro. Transfer direct thru USB is recomended.

Hi,

I just bought HDPro, so would like to share my experience.

Received it pretty quick right after yangxi confirm with delivery. Upon receiving, box looks ok. inside, everything are in placed. The HDPro was mention mention as black color on yangxi the site, but I got mine in silver. I was hoping it was black. Anyway  I installed my 1TB drive immediately and go ahead with the 1st boot up.

I own a Yamaha RX-V465 AVR. Connect it to my 2nd HDMI where my 1st is connected to a BluRay player.  Yamaha AVR have NO issue with this player. NO hand shake issue at all.

Next, I format the HDD. Then I connect the player via USB, and realized my PC cant recognize the player HDD. After a few try with 2 pc, I took out my camera cable which work. It shows, the USB cable is defective. Not sure if yangxi want to send me a new one. ha ha ha ha

Well next, I proceed with movie. I tested UP and Walle, IpMan and Legions. They are all mp4 files. Works like a charm. smooth and clear. Especially UP. So clear look like Bluray format. Even my downloaded IpMan is better than my DVD I bought. My wife couldnt believe what this player could do.

Next, I try to install BT Samba. This is where I realized, I cant get it installed. Tried many ways and recommendations from the web but all fail. But the last recommendation that I didnt try, actually work.  For those who just received this, you may need to downgrade the firmware and then only install BT Samba. Once complete, you could upgarde it back to the latest firmware again. It was pretty fast actually.

I'm watching UP now while typing. Run the IP for my HDPro and open the drive. and play WALL E from my notebook wirelessly. To my surprise, no lag at all. Both movie play smoothly. Then, I try running IP from my notebook, while it play on my TV. Again, it work like a charm. Both my TV and Notebook play smoothly. Amazing.  Even the 5.1 surround sound from the mp4 file is great.  Next I open 2 movies from my notebook and let UP playing on TV.
Amazing... NO problem at all. all movies play smoothly with no issue.

The color setting is cool. You stop at a video, and go setup. It allows you to see the color setting in real time. So, human skin color etc is easy to adjust.

Alright.... so far so good. Next, I'm to try using the BT apps. see how it work and how fast it can download vs a normal computer?  That will be my next thing to do. Now enjoy the movie 1st... smile.gif

Wireless streaming of small files usually no problem. Try wireless streaming high bitrate mkv?

Actually the fan is very loud, but with the movie on and me sitting 15 ft away it doesn't bother me. I don't mind the fan, I believe it will allow the internal HD to stay cool (Disclaimer I have yet to install the internal HDD, but am waiting to get a 1.5 TB WD caviar green)

I test 2 things today.

1. I downloaded some mt2s videos by DTS and Dolby. The Dobly TrueHD audio cant be recognize. The DTS can, but my amp show DTS and not DTS Master Audio. The Video file is a DTS Master audio and sound great!

2. I realize that the video setting to 1080p at 60hz and sort of 'upscale'. Am I right? Because, I post a scean for a video and toggle video setting from 720p to 1080p and I could see the different. Does that means this box actually upscale?
