indeed that quad is cheap..but the multi is too low..
u hard to get it run at high speed...no future proof also...2nd hand 550BE that unlocked might be selling around 300 at GS.. just add few more bucks.

I would have to agree with kunta with this, a lil bit more can get u a 555 that can be use for both AM2+ & AM3 mobo.. Plus its a C3 stepping somemore..

BTW kunta, sure is a lot of 555 users in this thread nowadays, 955 users like me and verdict are getting extinct

yeah...555BE go to new one..since unlock rate is high..if used 555BE used will be more expensive compared to new that not confirm can unlock ( i think)..

better go for athlonII x3 rana .. or phenomII 555

this processor . not frontward compatible with newer board .
you are stuck with AM2+ with it 

the success rate to unlock P2 555 so high, so far never heard got ppl fail to unlock . this might be a good option , but it is still a gamble

Im using dark knight. Highest temperature 70c under stress prime95, idle temperature 41c. With 3 heat pipe the cooler cant handle stress very well, might wanna change to 5 pipes or more. Any recommendation ???

as for cooler, atleast go for true, even ultra-120 (non extreme) has problem tamin d heat of 125watter 1050t. it's better to get a premium grade cooler now if u were to upgrade to x6 in short future...

enable CnQ.will helps u alot...50c is safe...dont worry much...and if possible decrease the volt..since u using stock heatsink

personally, i'd like to keep everything below 55'C on load, but ~60'c still acceptable, especially for d chip. 80% rpm on stock amd fan, ermm... i can't stand it tbh... 

get a cheapo but decent cooler like hyper 212+, it can handle x2 temp very well...

pros: award bios, nice look, can't be wrong w/ oc.
cons: NOT being a full sized atx, no bios for x6 yet (not a concern thou)

m4a88td-v evo:
pros: sexy look, full sized atx
cons: well, that ami bios & bein a mid range asus board usually means mediocre in oc

I just found out one thing that if i enable CnQ my cpu will bsod.
If disable it, nothing happen. (except temperature not looking good)

From what i found online, tuniq extreme is 5 heat pipe direct touch   and for megahelems which is 6 heatpipe non direct touch.
I guess heatpipe direct touch would be more advantages is it ? Correct me if im wrong...

ive saw some ppl post here the unlock rate for pII x2 555 is high.. does that rate includes ppl who unlock by adjusting with voltage as well?

because i've tried unlocking but uhh.. it failed lol.. but i just enabled the acc, and theres option for "core unlocking" (im using msi 770t-c45 btw) without adjusting the voltage.. nver tried adjusting the voltage yet.. scared i will went overboard and fry it  i maybe the unlucky ones, not that i really care, but it would be awesome though, hahah  :/P

If it's me i'd go with the Gaygaybite, no use yet for a 880G chipset mobo.. :/lol:
Plus i'm afraid if what some of the current evo mobo owners saying is true that u can't fiddle with the CPU-NB volt & some ram timings are unavailable on the evo

it's more of look vs look issue, oc wise we all know who's d winner rite... just checked d evo manual, all voltages are available w/ very small increment, not a bad thing to have but again, asus mid range boards are known to be mediocre... certain risks involved here...  :/unsure:

gaygay @ $195, evo @ $22x... $2x for better look + igp (heck care) + risk for bein a lemon board... dilemma....  :/help:
