problem:
i cant mms to other phones
i have the picture icon next to the message bar, but when i wanna send mms to somebody it keeps failing.
it says [" your message was not sent. tap"try Again" to send this message].
my line wasn't barred cause i can make calls.
is it the problem with the settings or what?

pls help me...

Check out your mms settings. And have you activated the GPRS via your telco carrier?

i tried the OTA link, it says its currently unavailable for apple iphone 4 settings.

wanted to keyed the settings manually so i went to settings>general>network>cellular data ON, but cant find a way to key in the settings manually..
anybody know the way to bypass the ip4 cellular data settings and manually key in from normal 3gs settings?
my number have activated gprs already last time, could send mms and short videos using my old phone btw.

Need help for my iphone sg3 8gb. Few months ago, i jailbreak my iphone by using spirit. However, recently when i try to restore and upgrade it to ios 4.0 it's totally fail. itunes indicate that my iphone is not eligible for the requested built. i'm very frustrated with it. Now it need to restore it back to original factory setting so that i can send to MAXIS to claim for the warranty.

this was not the first time i jailbreak my iphone. however, previous few times didn't showed any problem when i try to restore. i wondering why it will be like this now. is it related to my pc? coz i just format my pc recently.

Which ios did u use before u tried restoring ur phone?

Apple no longer signing the 4.0 or 4.0.1 ipsw, you can only restore to 4.0.2 ipsw. 4.0.2 is not jailbreakable at the moment and the Devteam will not work on it.

However, if you have saved your iphone shsh blob for the lower firmware (3.1.2, 3.1.3, 4.0 or 4.0.1) previously with saurik server or using tinyumbrella you will be able to restore to the lower firmware by redirecting the host of your computer to 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com.

Only 3gs iphone with old bootrom can be jailbroken at 4.0.2 using the latest redsnow or Custom Restore ipsw.

please make sure you are restoring to the correct ipsw. For iphone 3gs the firmware file should start with iPhone2,1_ ...
the ipsw should look like the following
4.0.1 (3GS): iPhone2,1_4.0.1_8A306_Restore.ipsw
4.0.2 (3GS): iPhone2,1_4.0.2_8A400_Restore.ipsw

Itunes auto detect and download the ios, so i think shoud b compatible~~

The google source mentioned only jailbroken phone can do that...but my 3GS IPHONE is not jb-ken one.. ;(

the usual way for us to do when changing phones is to backup the old phone and restore from backup on the new one..
not only the smses, but all the other important data would also be ported in...

dunno whether can ask here or not but i cant find an app "iprotect" for my iphone 4.
i read somewhere cant be install in ip4, anybody know any similar apps i can find?
basically i want an app so that can lock my sms inbox,dont like others reading it.

You should download the .ipsw based on the firmware you saved. NOT directly restore via iTunes.

install it just now and went into safe mode

iProtect works fine on 4.0.1. Try installing it.
