Hi guys, need some help. Actually this morning i tried to tethering my iphone 3gs to my laptop xp and is not successful. But the problem is when i try to do tethering again, the tethering setting is missing. Setting -> General -> Network -> tethering setup missing.

Can anybody help me on this. really appreciated it....

usually when u grab ur hp near to ur face when making a call, the screen will fade to black, but after u put away, the screen supposedly will reappear again. but mine didnt. even b4 jailbreaking it. the way to make it reappear again is by pressing lock button twice. i read in apple website forum many ppl encounter the same prob. they say its firmware bug. i need to know if anyone out there has the same prob as mine. or anyone has a solution to my prob. or mayb jus anybody out there knows wads actually wrong wif it. im carrying iphone 3gs. firmware 4.01

What set you brought it from ? maxis or digi ? try to send to them for RMA ?

1) try rebooting the fone.
2) restore fone as new fone.
3) if all else fails, u can try upgradin to 4.0.2 or sending it to maxis if under warranty.

from digi....i try restore n didnt jb but still the same...i didnt send for warranty yet...coz i hope i dun hv to send for warranty if there's other options...

Send back to the origin place you bought the set. No repair centre in Msia.

i was trying to use itunes(under my devices>info) syn contacts to " google contact ". after i sync i found that all my contacts in iphone are lost, can anyone help me to restore it..?

Restore from backup.

Right click your "iPhone name" on the left and choose "restore from backup". Select when the file you last sync.

Why not select the file you sync back last few weeks back? Not necessary to choose the latest one.

my 3G seems difficult to connect to any connections lately. i thought of upgrade d firmware to 3.1.3. (as im still on 3.1.2). so i just wanna ask bros....wat happened if i click restore in itunes? will it restore to 3.1.2 or wat?

Have you try reset network connection in the settings? When you click restore your phone will revert back to factory setting. In your case, after reverting your phone OS will be 4.0.2.

I dont suggest you to have 4.02. Will be very lag for i3g. Maybe you can try manually upgrade to 3.1.3.

Download it @ http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1223378 (look for 3.1.3 i3g firmware).

After downloading, plug in iPhone. Put your phone into DFU mode (google for the steps).

Lastly, alt + click "restore" in itunes and choose the .ipsw file you downloaded earlier.

p/s: remember to backup your data before restoring. Right click your "iPhone name" on the left and choose "restore from backup".

Im preety sure you lost all your contacts. Dont have the original contacts in sim?
