QUOTE(CempedakCOD4 @ Sep 1 2010, 06:11 PM) TTS 2 is cheaper, a bit old and far.TTS 4 is newer, and houses conditions are mostly nice but expensive. TTS 5 is nearest, thus being the more popular options, also expensive. If one has car and doesn't mind 10 minutes drive every day, Sunway Semenyih is a very good choice with very affordable rental and good conditions, and most importantly, better security. We'll be going through those first.TTS 4 is newer, and houses conditions are mostly nice but expensive. TTS 5 is nearest, thus being the more popular options, also expensive. If anyone notices houses for rent in the area can let me know? I'll be eternally grateful. Hee.. Edit: Oh yes, I forgot to mention. MechEng intake September 2010 Year 1....anyone here? haha... Hey all, I just sent my application via email to Nottingham last Thursday and they just confirmed my application was received yesterday. Anyone know of the likelihood of them rejecting an application of chemical engineering? Assuming I meet the requirements, is there a quota I might not be aware of?
I spoke to them and a representative said there was no quota and I also spoke to a professor during an open day who said the results I got was sufficient enough for for her to say 'they won't say no'. But still, an opinion from outside the Uni staff would be nice ^^". And also.. When I called the admissions office, I was told I needed to wait 14 working days? 3 weeks? A lil cutting it short for accomodation hunting isnt it? lol... |

Unless you really did not meet the requirement for all your choices, or you should find yourself a place in Nottingham, even though it may not be your desired choice.QUOTE(Xenith193 @ Sep 2 2010, 12:52 PM) Hey all, I just sent my application via email to Nottingham last Thursday and they just confirmed my application was received yesterday. Anyone know of the likelihood of them rejecting an application of chemical engineering? Assuming I meet the requirements, is there a quota I might not be aware of? You have to consider that there are a lot of people start sending in their applications at the moment. It's the peak season, thus they take longer time to process. That doesn't mean they will take exactly 14 working days though. Depending on their workload, they may do it earlier than that date.I spoke to them and a representative said there was no quota and I also spoke to a professor during an open day who said the results I got was sufficient enough for for her to say 'they won't say no'. But still, an opinion from outside the Uni staff would be nice ^^". And also.. When I called the admissions office, I was told I needed to wait 14 working days? 3 weeks? A lil cutting it short for accomodation hunting isnt it? lol... I believe the quota is there, but it is hardly met by the current student population. Thus, they take in capable students whenever it's possible. Don't worry about the application. I can't guarantee you (as I am just some another one in the uni) but I will advise you not to worry about it. Perhaps take this time to start hunting for accommodation already, but only submit real application (if you decide to stay with Pioneer/Perintis - read few pages earlier on how I bash them, LOL!) when your offer is out. |

Yeah, regarding the accomodation... I'm with Cempedak actually. Still looking for ads on houses for rent, so yeah, not under Pioneer, haha... Currently still looking out for fully furnished houses that can fit about 5/6 people in TTS 2, 4 or 5 with a max budget of about 2k. I understand although TTS 4 is pretty far, there's a shuttle bus right?

Was thinking about RM2k will be our upper limit since at around that price, it would start to be about the same cost as a room under Pioneer when split equally amongst all of us, lol... Although any cheaper options would be much appreciated =D

You mean the word document? Yeah, I've seen that b4, I got it from the accomodation office in an email when I asked regarding my options and what help they could provide. I'm keeping it as a back up now, but still actively searching, lol...
