QUOTE(rxy @ Aug 26 2010, 12:43 PM) Well, some people bring in fridge, portable a/c,washing machine.. Yes, there will be spotchecks according to my friend. I do not know how does the spotcheck get carried out though. Do they enter using their own copies of keys or come knock your doors asking you to open, that would make big differences.so they did that.. iinm,on campus accommodation already did that. and they kinda like open up your room and go in to see(spotcheck)? will anyone please clarify that? @DJFoo000:diesel electric generator is quite a good idea. why not try renewable source one lol.. hmm,SA can't really do anything bout that since the students don't regulate themselves.. Unless all students just use normal normal one ok la.. if bring in electrical appliances like i mentioned, then sure die lo.. I can understand the use of fridge, air cooler and washing machine (can fit meh?) that would take up a lot of electricity. Banning those does sound reasonable - but printer? LOL.. Laptop, desktop and chargers are so far what I was told allowed. Added on August 26, 2010, 2:47 pm QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Aug 26 2010, 11:16 AM) No. The best group to ask for help is the Hall Tutors & Committee. For what I know, this is an effective medium to reach the higher-up in university. QUOTE(DJFoo000 @ Aug 26 2010, 01:50 PM) eh usually how is makan settled there ah? Cooking allowed? Catering services? Cafeteria all the time? Cooking is allowed in the pantry, which is available every wings (and each floor has 3 wings, each halls has 3-4 floors). But NO, I won't use the stove there, nor the kettle, nor the fridge.Added on August 26, 2010, 2:48 pm QUOTE(eXPeri3nc3 @ Aug 26 2010, 11:14 AM) That's the most retarded thing I'd ever heard from the accommodation side. I am still thinking that printer not to be allowed is quite ridiculous. I am still unsure on the exception list so far. Who knows it's just mis-communication between my friend and the management, or my and my friend.Seriously. WTF is wrong with them. Can't even use printer? Desktop speaker? Hp charger? Go die la But one thing to be done for all incoming residents, it's best to ask what could be brought, what couldn't. This post has been edited by tanjinjack: Aug 26 2010, 02:48 PM |

If you guys do got a room left, please do inform me. really appreciate it. Thanks. I recommend you to search on this website: nottingham forum. A lot of advertisments of rented rooms and houses are shown there from TT2 to TTS5. You have to sign in first though. I hope you will find a room soon. It's better to search for it now before other students do. Have a good day Sir. Regards Atia |

^none of UNMC's programs are twinning. Degrees awarded by UNMC is identical to the ones awarded by University of Nottingham, UK. This is the University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus. It just so happen that a few programs require students to complete the degree in UK (not an option I think).
About credit transfer, AFAIK it would be easier if it's among Australian or UK degrees, but not between these two degrees. I reckon it's still case-by-case, even among Australian universities (my friend did his business degree in Metropolitan (Twin with Curtin IIRC) and transferred to Monash in Year 2, but need to retake a few subjects). UK and Aus has different systems. No point trying to do a 1st year UK but the subsequent Aus. If your final destination is Aus, stick to those programmes that twin with Aus, or Monash.what i wanna know is whether if i enrol 1st year in engineering degree course, can i transfer to australia after the 1st year? or is it depends on the university in australia to accept me anot? That being said, you can still do that, just that you may risk yourself wasting your 1 year in Nottingham. Everything depends on the university in Australia and they can just say the courses are not compatible and you have to redo. It can happen. |

QUOTE(MrLawKH @ Aug 28 2010, 02:05 PM) thank you so much. I really do appreciate it. Dear MrLawKH,Added on August 28, 2010, 6:03 pmhi all. Just want to know that is it worth to rent a room at tts5 for 410 per month? If this room you are refering to is a single room, I say it is much cheaper than renting a room owned by Pioneer (on campus and off campus accommodation) and Perintis Kencana (on campus accommodation). However, I advise you to visit the house first to see if the facilities are adequate e.g. the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom are properly equipped, the house is clean, etc. Also, do not take a long time to make your decision because these houseowners are money-minded people. They may give the room to someone else who have paid the deposit despite the fact the you have booked the room. If you are satisfied with the room as it is, it is alright to rent it. At least you have found a room at TTS5, which is your main objective. Regards Azalea Added on August 29, 2010, 11:20 pm QUOTE(rxy @ Aug 28 2010, 11:54 AM) Well, I am Atia....My real name is Azalea. @3_midnight_girl:I just wonder.
You sound like someone from SA committee.. @MrLawKH:If it's fully furnished single room,it's still ok. You just use it for 2 years only right? You can always change when u got a better choice. |

That's good too.
If there's really some SA committee is here to help, even better isn't it? Not only staying inside the circle but to come out and see can help those new comers. |
