Hey just popping in to ask some questions :

Anyone know that does the university allow students to park inside the campus? If so do I need to apply for permissions or something?
I plan to drive there since the distance isn't that far from my home.

Also, I'll be studying Chem Engineering with Environment Engineering. So any seniors here that can give me advise on text books? I'm asking in the sense that do I need to buy brand new ones or can I opt for cheap 2nd hand or photocopied ones? Kinda regretted the decision to buy the expensive Chemistry text book CIE recommended when I was doing A-Levels.

Thanks.

Just drive there, and get your parking sticker from the Security Office located at ground floor of the yellow/orange building.

@joanne_yan:Kapas Hall is the furthest among all of the on-campus accommodation buildings.
But still ok la..
After some time,you will get used to it.
Should be can reached within 10 minutes.
And which block are you referring to?
The Blue Building?

Hi, how you guys know which hall you will be staying?(eg Tioman Hall...etc) The Pioneer Century's staff just sent me a confirmation of booking after I bank in to their account without any further information. It is the way it should be?
Thanks. biggrin.gif

You all are so lucky to got on campus...

@XIII:I am doing Pure Chemical.
Hmm,seriously,no need..
If you really wanna save up,just borrow books..
And not all books are needed..
But it depends on people afterall.
Some people tend to get a lot of textbook but for most of the people,studying the notes alone for Year 1 should suffice.
Perhaps till Year 2 or you wanan read it extensively on your own.
And u can drive,get the parking sticker FOC.
The sticker is for the guard not to block you..

@joanne_yan:Then should be Blue Building.
Well,10 mins isn't far.
But if compared to some off campus,it's about the same time..
Perhaps Tioman Hall to go to the Blue building is like 5 mins.

It was said that they can't park unless there are free space that are not occupied by those who need it.

I laughed when I heard that.

In the end it doesn't really matter, as long as you don't park more than 1 car of yours there then it's fine.

Looking for house to rent near campus. Total of 5 people, maybe more. Anyone can help?

The accommodation office just told me and some friends that both on and off campus accommodation are gone. I submitted my application ages ago and only now they tell me. *headdesk**headdesk*

And my geography of the area is a bit sketchy, could someone tell me the names of the housing areas around there including proximity to campus.

MANY many thanks yeah. =)
