1.After the basis full auto MCACC setup how do we proceed to The Advanced MCACC?
2.Do we set the speakers size first then MCACC or after MCACC then set speaker size?

I did the auto MCACC, the speakers size always come out Large even I’m using KEF3005SE which are small 5.1 speakers. rclxub.gif After setting to small, when I run MCACC again it sets it back to large. mad.gif

3. What is the best sub crossover for a small room of 11’X14’, any how my input is 100HZ..any help in this area?

4. Another thing is, it sometime show my center speaker as Reverse Phase even the speaker are properly connected, it drive me nuts  rclxub.gif .…I just ignore it and proceed with the calibration... tongue.gif

Try this link I just came across. Might not answer all your questions but may be able to enlighten us more on MCACC. The rest is up to us to experiment and get the 'best' setup for our system.

Hey, has anyone used Pioneer speakers, eg Series 3, 7 and 8?

Are these good? Any comments?

get dvd player free too with the set although refuse to have it at first. still can't deduct the price lol! ...

Yup, I am also curious to know if there is anybody using these speakers out there at the moment.

If nobody is interested to buy my Series 8, I will most likely use it for my own listening pleasure... brows.gif

at 6 ohm and 85dB sensitivity, you're gonna need a beast to drive it.
a beast like the LX82 with its' Bang & Olfusen ICEPower amp module would be perfect..

Yeah, that is the problem. I have sold the LX82. The Series 8 speakers were supposed to go too. And I was planning to get something more affordable like the VSX-819 to couple with other speaker brands - use the extra cash for other commitments/debts.

Now I am seriously considering VSX-919 (7.1 channels) to pair with the Series 8. Then use the spare Surround Back channels to bi-amp to the front speakers to lessen the load. Good thing the front speakers allow bi-amping.

Do you think this may work? I normally don't crank up the volume as I stay in a link house. Appreciate your opinions on this. Thanks.

the VSX-919/1019 don't have a very good amp module. IINM, tested only to have about 28W of power.

1. Cannot help you here, as I am not that familiar with the newer sets.

2. U can set the speakers sizes after MCACC, set them to small.

3. I'm confused with this. Are you asking for individual channel crossovers, what are ur speakers rated at?

4. Check ur wiring again, then re-run by purposely changing the phase on the wires. If the error goes away, there is a strong possibility that some internal wiring or labelling in the speaker or in the AVR is wrong. This would not be the 1st time. Also try hooking up another speaker and see if u get the phase problem to troubleshoot where the problem could be.

Dear anfieldude,

for question 3, it's the Sub crossovers...I'm using KEF3005SE

That's very humbling to hear. Is there any competitor's brand out there in the similar price range who can perform better?

I am in Singapore for a couple of weeks and one shop is selling the Pioneer VSX-920 for SGD799 (can further claim back the GST). It's very tempting but I am also looking around for alternatives to better match the speakers.

Just another fellow user of KEF3005SE but I am not commenting on MCACC as I am on an Audesi based AVR. Just some input on the KEF3005SE.

1. I noted that with the Port Bung out, setting will be Large, try to keep the Port Bung in during calibration, see if it helps.
2. Recommendation for Sub-woofer crossover are between 80Hz to 120HZ. Try to see which one less boomy. Mine set at 100HZ also and I put my Sub-woofer on a Subdude rclxms.gif
3. Mine not with the centre. Its either the front left or right. So I also do the same thing.. I ignore also. Not sure why yours the center channel.

TQ for responding,

I kept the Port Bung in for all calibration by setting it as small speakers and subcross as 100Hz...

Btw did you switch the sub BassBoost to +3, +6dB or 0dB? icon_question.gif ...I did not touch it yet as still new from box..

My bassboost at maximum. I put everything to maximum and uses my AVR to control. All the Subwoofer control is underneath so not that easy to reach... and mine I do not put upright.. its on its 3 legs... and look like a flying saucer.... rclxms.gif
I am not using Pioneer, so outcome could be different. I am using the "warm" AVR and make the high on my satellite sound lazy. The KEF suppose to sound exciting but with a Malas AVR it now sound cozy to me... very nice to lay back and enjoy a good concert...
