So what is the verdict ? I don't have any problem with the main sections, i only have an issue with the subsections, like S153(1) and stuff. Is it enough to
just write out the main section only ?
*
what's wrong in memorizing the subsections also? xP. if tat could cost u 0.5/1 mark deciding u pass or fail , would you even take that risk >? i think the safest bet is to memorize as muchhhh as possible. whether u'll be able to reproduce in exam that is another story but at least you tried ur best.

^Anybody above the age of 21 can take ACCA. It's whether the person want's it or not. But bear in mind, ACCA is just not an accounting paper, it's a paper that prepares you till you are at strategic management level.

Can definitely take, acca never rejects anyone.
The issue is how much exemption you are entitled to. If minimum, then start from bottom lo.

so that is why i asked. instead of using time to memorise something that isn't needed, the time could be used in better ways. Looks like nobody here is capable of giving me a definite answer.

I'll put it this way, as someone mentioned earlier, the section will bring u probably 0.5 to 1 marks. So if you think you can afford to lose that amount of marks in order to study and memorise other things which (hopefully) can compensate that marks that you are losing, then by all means go ahead.

Just my opinion because I didn't pay much attention to the smaller section and instead focus on the facts of the case, and I am able to pass with satisfactory marks smile.gif

I found that technique is very useful in advance tax too but the syllabus is much more wider of course. Got to sacrifice some few subjects. And those subjects did came out sweat.gif , luckily they offered some logical questions, so being a good bluffer , just bluff away. tongue.gif

Can't really answer the whole question for you, but would give you some guidance.

- link it to Agency theory and problems (who is the agent, and who is the principal)
- then say what is the 'property' in this context - shares
- then say who is the owner of the property - shareholders.

Anyway, such question won't appear in ACCA. It is unlikely that David Campbell will set such a question.

Hey guys, i am taking F4 this sitting. My lecturer said its a must to memorise sections of the act, while i saw Guide that it is not necessary to quote section numbers. so which is it ?
*
I teaching u the faster & easier technique to study F4.

What u need to do is STUDY HARD MORE THAN 6 TO 10 YEARS PAST YEAR QUESTION & ANSWER, I can gurantee u for your June 2010 question SURE got at least 75% repeat from what your study.

Ownership of shares is different from ownership of property. In the context of CSR, owners of shares have certain responsibilities that they can exercise such as not electing directors who have not performed to expectations at AGM or removing directors at EGMs. Hope this helps

For most of the questions, S153 is good enough, if you really can't remember, say things like "A provision in S153..."

But for certain sections, you must give the subsections as well, like S2(a) and so on...

Erm, hasn't it been that way for quite long? But Sunway U. College is having its own graduation which is fortunate for sunway students.. lol. I'm wondering if colleges like Bandar/Orange/inti etc have their own ?
But I received this email

"ACCA is pleased to invite you to ACCA Celebrates, a special event organised to celebrate your success for completing the ACCA examinations. It will be an opportunity for you to catch up with friends who have gone through the same journey as well as a platform to obtain more information on your next course of action in obtaining ACCA memberships.

Come and celebrate with us!"

Does this event take place every sem for fresh grad? Who here will be attending? heh.
