i was under philip woo last sem(pass my audit, YAY!), and yea he is a very good lecturer in the sense he made you understand all the audit concept in a very practical and logical way, although sometimes he tell too much story but it's still boleh tahan la.

I recommend his way of teaching students how to approach the exam questions(definitely learn his technique to answer question then you can answer any questions) He doesn't really make you memorize things but he make you think what is RIGHT to write in exam.

However philip woo has his cons as well, which is he select topic when he comes to teaching, like if he feels that a particular topic would not come out, although it came out in the end!(thank god i covered all topics) LOL! He would skip it. And his tips are not reliable(then again, we are not suppose to rely on tips). So yea. That's what i can say about Philip woo.

hi guys need to pick optional paper for next sem, can anyone share with me how is P4 and P6 syllabus like?

well he well kinda go through what he taught in class previously during his revision but he will focus on the more important stuff only, like he will go through like how to determine those qualify not qualify part, if you are in his normal class then you should have his lil box where he draw how to determine it...

if you forgotten some of the concept then i suggest you better go for revision la... um... he will go through quite a lot of PYQ in revision, then he will spot what he think is important.

Then again, i wont suggest you use his tips la, cause last sem i was under him and his tips not accurate also... study everything is the best advice(as usual) la yea! all the best!

im not sure about now, but the last sem when i was under him, he only did those PYQ questions we were given from day one lo...

Hi, did anyone receive a letter from ACCA that says 'Application for Direct Entry as a Certified Accounting technician(CAT)(T2)?

exam requirement to be met include either passes/exemptions from Knowldege module, ie F1, F2 and F3 plus any two addtional paper from F6, F8 or F9 in skills module.

Then there is training requirement of PER of NVQ Route... what is a NVQ route?

I went to the acca website to check, it just keep saying NVQ Route but what is THAT?

P1 is Mr. Goh
P2 is Ms Menon
P3 got two if not mistaken, Mr Dinesh and one more lady, i forgotten her name coz i'm not taking P3 this sem... XD

i was under joyce F9 last sem, perhaps i could 'enlighten' you... haha...

first of all if you are a hardworking student, complete all the work she gave and read up everything before her class then you should be alright in her class, however if you always slack and skip class, then you better watch your back because she can actually recognize 90% of her students by their name(no joke).

she will also give random class test and she will check your homework, like she will actually check through one student by one student when she feels like it... so yeap...

if you are the kind of student that need lecturer to PUSH you really hard(i know some of my friends cannot tahan her so they went for geetha instead) then you can go for joyce, but at the end of the day, she means well. if you have been in her class then you would know she is a very 'motivated' lecturer although she scolds a lot... haha! Her notes are really nice, she really took the effort to design her notes so it's easier to study the theories...

Oh she also emphasize a lot on theory for F9, so that's good as well because F9 is almost like 45%-50% theory... so hope this helps!

ya man, i doubt i even wrote like 50 points to get 50 marks, console question didnt really write any explanation and had to resort to the question 2 and 3 instead of current issue question coz spotted sme and didnt come out... god is great!

P2 itself felt like a two papers on its own, i took f9, p1 and p2 together, felt a bit like suicide mission when i started revising all three, if i were to choose again i think p2 and another subject would be just nice but taking 3 will be a lil, stressful, then again, if you are really commited, ntg is impossible!

did anyone kena 'Authorisation Fail' when trying to make payment for the exam fee? i tried with 4 different comps and still cant make payment...

i also called up the bank to check if is something with the credit card but the bank say everything is alright...

i wrote an email to acca and the auto response says it will reply in 3 working day but now is way past 3 working days already... somebody help?!
