for tarc you will have to go for diploma(2 years 4 months) then advanced diploma cum ACCA(1 years 8 months)
with the advanced diploma, you are exempted 9 papers for ACCA which left you 5 more papers.
So total time estimated should be around 5 years provided you pass all the ACCA papers.

wasei so long.... if in sunway... cat > acca , it takes 3 years den finish all da 14 papers of acca ?

The CAT>ACCA route only takes 3 years provided you pass all the papers at one go. Some prefer to have a degree to be on the safe side while some prefer the shortcut method.

Nightmare I tell you  sweat.gif The current issues notes are 1/4 of the P2 notes

I think the P2 current issues are just crap.
Just simply vomit out during your exam, and you'll be lucky to get around 15 marks.
Think about audit, and do it like how you do in your F8 smile.gif

I am 2 months behind before completing my foundation programme, which means my highest qualification would be foundation.

In that case, i need to take Acca knowledge > Skills > Professional.

Can i know the duration for acca knowledge? how long it usually takes?

Is it possible for me to obtain loan for ACCA if i were to enrol in either orange or kasturi? besides banks loan

The colleges mentioned above only provide tuition or do they arrange all the examinations as well?

thx in advance
*
ACCA knowledge usually takes 2 to 4 years. F8 can stuck you quite long.

No loan, except for TARC.

Exams can be arranged by yourself, and is preferred to be arranged by yourself (choosing your exam venue, your exam paper variants...)

1. From TARC if you're a student at there.
2. Free from Kasturi if you're taking their course.
3. Get yourself a passport, fly to Singapore, and buy one from Kaplan smile.gif

hi all,

i would appreciate if some sifus can help me on this

i would like to order some books from bpp some acca books but they do not deliver to malaysia, is there any local website that does online order and delivery to east malaysia? if there are no online ordering then which bookshop is recommended for ordering?

i saw from their website here that there are 6 study materials, for self study are all 6 needed or just the study text?

i am asking for my gf that intends to take p1 and p2int this december.

last question, for bpp, kaplan books, what are the differences and which is recommended?

thanks
*
Both are craps. But Kaplan craps more than BPP. However, BPP is too detailed (You just need basic understanding to pass ACCA). Kaplan's example are too easy, and sometimes, illogic.

For P1, BPP will be the preference.
For P2, BPP is also recommended.

However, the best material on the market, lecturer's tuition notes (compact, yet, no crap) =)

den it takes how long to complete the whole acca in tarc college which does nt involve da cat > acca ?
*
4 years, provided if you're smart.
For TARC, there's a course which runs parallel with ACCA, which means, you can take the final 5 papers at your final years.
But one thing, you have to bear with the lecturers.

sry... may i ask about the differences btw the pathway and duration to finish acca in tarc and kasturi ?

In TARC, you will get additional diploma and advanced diploma certificate and probably a degree from Sheffield Hallam University . In Kasturi, you can go for the OBU degree. It takes approximately a year longer to finish ACCA in TARC compared to Kasturi provided that you pass everything in one go and you take about three papers at a sitting.

Nope. It takes about 4-5 years to complete ACCA in TARC. If you are in AFA course, it took about 4 years to complete your ACCA but if you are in AAC course, it would take about five years. Students normally completed their diploma in about 1 year and 10 months and advanced diploma (in AFA) would be completed in two years generally, which is about 4 years.

ommended.

I didn't know we can get Kaplan books from TARC. During my studies there, we would need to buy from the Singapore distributor. So things have changed now eh? At least the students don't have to bear expensive fees when they import the books in anymore since TARC students generally do not fall into rich category.

TARC still import Kaplan books from S'pore. It may be one of the 2 colleges (another being Kasturi) to assess with S'pore Kaplan. And students still pay for the conversion rate.

normally, the BBP books will for 2 sitting ( dec & june ), but it does not means that it cannot be used completely for next exam.
But, u need to watch out for the changes esp for P2 where there will be changes or updates of the standard.
for P1, generally it still can be used if the syllabus not significantly change & the book is mainly the same

hope this will help u.

Will the F6 notes be relevant when I want to take P6 in the future? Should I keep it because there are people PM-ing me and I am not sure whether I should sell it just in case I need it in the future?

This is from the examiner P1 syllabus ! But, I can't find any info in BPP or Kaplan text book !

i) explain, and assess the nature and sources of risks to, auditor independence. Asess the hazard of auditor capture .
ii) explain and evaluate the importance of compliance and role of the internal audit function in internal control.
iii) Describe the content of a report on Internal control and audit
iv) Explain and assess how internal controls underpin and provide information for accurate financial reporting

I am have the olf P1 book, (Dec'07 to June'08), any problem with that ?

P6 is no longer like F6, P6 is all about specialization but F6 is all about fundamentals of tax comp.
