I am 2 months behind before completing my foundation programme, which means my highest qualification would be foundation.

In that case, i need to take Acca knowledge > Skills > Professional.

Can i know the duration for acca knowledge? how long it usually takes?

Is it possible for me to obtain loan for ACCA if i were to enrol in either orange or kasturi? besides banks loan

The colleges mentioned above only provide tuition or do they arrange all the examinations as well?

thx in advance

acca is considered one of the lowest cost around. If you cannot afford it, you cannot afford for anything else. Another alternative is self study by using text book. Only 10% of class costs.
ACCa is not a degree, its just a body allowing you to take their exams and if you passed they give you their cert. How, when, where you study you can do it anyway you want. You can even not study at all but if you passed exam then you passed already. For the british, its always "The end justify the means".

dunno whether this is the right thread.

but I'm not working in an audit firm, I'm working in a palm oil plantation,
I need to submit my working experience to ACCA to get the "privilege" to "contribute" more to them annually.

for this working experience thingy, is there a prescribed format to submit?

Or i just need to type out form and go like

"yo i am work here for x amount of year doing y type of job, here be my boss man sign now gimme membership"

thanks in advance.

no difference apart that if you enrol outside of university you can choose to pay to those classes that you are interested on instead of just taking whatver the uni offered you. You can choose your teachers too. This gives the student a very high bargaining power. So choose based on quality becomes a norm in non-uni centres. Just imagine a housewife running to 5 different hypermarkets to get the best discount you will get the picture.

There isn't any "catching up" to do actually since they will start teaching it from scrap. Its just that those with some accounting knowledge from SPM gets a head start compared to others. As long as you understand the initial double entry principle (some of my friends struggle with it), I believe you're good to go!

I don't really know much about the salary for fresh grads but for the course duration (if you're asking for the CAT>ACCA programme), its 1 year CAT, 2 years ACCA. Hope it helps. =)

Just asking, is it true that you can't write your answers on the left and right side of the paper in the answer booklet?

for tarc you will have to go for diploma(2 years 4 months) then advanced diploma cum ACCA(1 years 8 months)
with the advanced diploma, you are exempted 9 papers for ACCA which left you 5 more papers.
So total time estimated should be around 5 years provided you pass all the ACCA papers.

I did not take accounts for SPM and i find no problem at all during CAT. 'Accounts' for SPM and accounting are entirely different. Try ACCA , i think there will be course outline there.

Fresh grad from ACCA working for Big 4 would get around RM2400 if i am not mistaken, but according to our esteemed Topace the work is way more than what you get paid for.

That would apply to any other exam, the page margins aren't meant to be written in.

Added on March 22, 2010, 10:42 pmI would like to ask :-

a) To those who are currently working and taking their Professional papers, or did so previously , were you able to cope ?
c) Will your employers let you off early for classes and give you study leave ?.
d) What is the work that you do on a daily basis ? Give me some examples and stuff.

Thanks.
