Japan or Korea also not safe or advise to go right now, people insist to go there most probably they have little knowledge about radiation or they don't believe the radiation will bring any harm to their body, or they want to be hero.

Actually, the reverse is true. People are saying not to go to Jpn or S. Korea because they watch a bit of news and suddenly they 'think' they are an expert on radiation. In fact, these are most likely the same people who ran screaming into the supermarkets grabbing all the salt they can get.

Then I assume you are the one who just read a bit of news and don't understand it at all, so just ignore it and enjoy your travel kind!

Speaking of radiation knowledge, no one is absolutely certain that it's exceedingly hazardous or acceptably risky to travel to the affected areas. I guess the best way is, let people make their own choices.

After all, it's their hard-earned money (and life) they are spending for the travel, not yours tongue.gif

yes, totally agree, I just speak out what I know and how dangerous is the radiation. After all the decision still depend on you.

Well, wanted to go japan this May but decided to skip it not because of the radiation/earthquake but because I'm worried about the infrastructure (whether the trains will be running and if the attractions are opened).

As mentioned before by me and matt, we are not specialist in Nuke field....so either u wanna take the risk or still thinkin bout the future...Yeah if we wanna die...does not meant only go to the radiation area...even now, or after this you wake up and walk also anytime you can die as your fate stated am i? so up to individual to decide...bcoz their life...no offence all! tongue.gif

It is virtually impossible for Japan to hide or sweep things under the carpet, because of the world-wide attention and cooperation this is getting.
IAEA is involved. The US (civilian and military) are involved. France is now involved. This is the global 21st century - if nothing else, information leaks.

The US military have been flying missions taking radiation readings since the beginning - if they knew something - they have a duty of care to tell their own citizens living in Japan (and there are MANY because of the bases in Yokohama) to cabut. And they haven't. They don't care about causing Japanese panic or what not. The French left early because, well, they're French, that's what they do smile.gif

Japan publishes radiation readings at various collection points throughout the country on a daily basis. Right now, Tokyo is registering less background radiation that HK does on a normal day. Source: Bloomberg

And why is China at risk? Beijing is 1300 miles from Tokyo. Roughly same distance London is from Chernobyl, Ukraine. You didn't see people fleeing from London during the Chernobyl incident. And that was a meltdown. The Fukushima reactors are not in meltdown. The Chinese man-in-the-street likes to over-react, especially when it has something or anything to do with Japan (victims of over-successful propaganda)

Sure, the immediate area around the Fukushima reactors are probably off limits for the next 20 years or so (depending on what isotopes got loose). Agriculture is probably shot there too. But Tokyo is pretty far away still.

Hi, whether Japan did covered up the real situation or not, I think now even the Japanese know about it. Sometimes we must not trust those politician too much as they just want to make the best for themself and also for the country due to the very serious consequence if tell the truth. For, for me, I won't believe them as they are the one that cover up the real thing all the time. My best friend who is working in Japan for so many years, Tokyo, just came back from there last few days, what she told me is totally different from the news, they, the Japanese also know that their government did not tell them the truth, just said the level of radiation also still in the limit that will not harm the human health, but the real thing isn't what their government said, their government just want to keep the country in control. She even told me Korea also quite serious, but surprisingly she never heard anything from there, first she thought that want to go to Korea since from Tokyo to Seoul is less than 2 hours of flight, but the situation over there also quite serious, just their government still cover up the real story. So she decided to come back to Malaysia.

So now who is the one keep saying nothing one lar, safe one lar? I found those travel agency persons keep saying this, and keep persuade their cutomer to continue the trip. Don't they feel that keep doing this is very bad and stupid??
