i understand your agony
proton did it for teh lulz?
so we need those that already got their elegance, see whether they are having problem or not...
If forte came out before i decided to buy persona, i would go for forte instead

the engine power wise is generally okla good for cruising and top speed etc. BUT when it comes to cornering out of roundabout back intro straights, zig zag overtaking & picking up from stand still... its weight and lack of low end torque is really2 felt. its the time when u feel, "come on!!! go go go!!!". This engine's torque & power comes mostly in high rpm... a rev happy engine. so mb... shall we go bolt on turbo (BOT) to improve low end torque? hahaha...forte..... humm...i like. hehehe... value for money. but 2nd hand value?? hummm..... eg. my friend's Kia Spectra same age as my ex myvi. When sold, my ex myvi loss about 10k its value whereas my friend's spectra lost about 45k. that is a big WOW. hahah..QUOTE(jasontantenghuat @ Apr 14 2010, 12:09 AM)
Forte is worth the money though. Haha but then, it is still a foreign car and parts are not cheap and not easily pirated

true true......QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ Apr 14 2010, 01:34 AM)
lots of hype here before the official launch on the 32bit ECU. I remember i said that it could be good or bad because there may be reliability issue due to new ECU not properly tested and all.
seems like the negative side of what i said has become true...
although our old persona using 16bit ECU, but at least it's been proven ok for us

At least proton stops the production and not let its cars out onto the road. solving it at the production line clearly shows their responsibility, QC level and etc. its better to detect, stop it and rectify it at the production line rather than letting it out on the market, and later having thousands of them having problems and recalling them. that would cost too much. Big blow to Proton. Just a month after the release? Let's hope the new Waja is good.
i think it should be alright. at least its not a major RECALL! hahahaha... that would be the REAL big blow!QUOTE(muslayer @ Apr 14 2010, 09:00 AM)
maybe is the ECU having problem with Auto gears and ABS braking....
Added on April 14, 2010, 9:08 amWhy regret? And u think Forte dun have problem ? To me all car have problem. Is see ur luck whether u get a good car or problematic car only.
Forte is still new, i won't not believe that it dun have any problem.

almost every car have their own problems. about a year ago i had the opportunity to be at the service mechanic area office behind Toyota service centre building. on the white board, i see a long list of various toyota models of owners having so and so problems.
i have a few friends who bought cars like Benz and BMW having various problems and need to spend time in the SC many times.... but of course the chances of these are far less compared to cheaper local cars due to more strict QC. This post has been edited by jasondotcom: Apr 14 2010, 10:01 AM
