wow so fast v7 and page 3 already?!

anyways, anyone know where to get / buy original proton persona rear boot lid liner / pad / carpet??

For me, i owned and drove myvi automatic for almost 4 years and now owning Persona automatic for more than half a year. Comparing to Persona automatic, i would say Persona's automatic is really really far better off than myvi's automatic. Why?

1. Much more smarter gear programming
2. Smooth shifting
3. Comparing the lag, myvi's automatic lags soooooo badly compared to persona's automatic. Tested with other myvis as well to confirm.
4. Result, overtaking was much easier as the auto kicks down very fast, smartly holding onto the gear necessary for power and easily so there was almost no lag. In the myvi automatic, i find myself on many occasions whereby i manually down shift the gears for quick overtaking rather than waiting for it to lag. In Persona, almost never needed to do so.

of course ur fuel tank cannot auto cut off.... there is no such thing anyways. its because of the pump nozzle. its either u placed it incorrectly into the filling hole or a defective nozzle.

Yea SC loves to overfill the engine oil i dunno why really....... So sickening. It happens to generally almost all mechanics out there. btw, nice excel there.... very accurate or what???

i asked Proton SC about the rear boot lid cover / carpet... and gathered that it cost RM200 for it??? WTH..... Need to order for it.


Got one new issue now. Current mileage 9800KM.

- My cabin light dun work anymore. The bulb is still good... dunno why it stopped working. Sigh.

-My brake pedal while braking have a little vibe to it while braking. And when high speed braking, pedal vibes and so does the steering a bit.

WTH man...... whts wrong

just replaced my front brake pads to Trestor Advantage (Blue) pads. Had great experiences with this pads in my previous cars. So hopefully after fully bedded in.... everything will be nice. Kinda sick with stock Bosch pads.

Honestly, in my years of driving in different cars that i owned before... i never once had any good experience with Bosch pads. It is one of the lousiest pads out there.

Had good experiences with TRON ceramic metallic pads, Bendix Metal King Titanium, Trestor 2 star and Trestor Advantage.

Screw the warranty. Been going back and forth to adjust the brakes for several times already. I am gonna go to my usual outside workshop to check and fix the rear ticking drum brakes when it comes back. I believe it will be coming back soon enough.

Note: If ur worried about those black brake dust... then dun follow me using Trestor Advantage pads. Cuz the brake dust is equally as much as original Bosch pads. I went for it because i want better braking performance.

The mech at the SC told me its a design fault and nothing they could do about it other than to grease the contact part of the backing plate and the drum brake pads. And i think that grease is starting to make my brakes judder..... WTF.

Item 1: Yea i prefer Gen2 Cps front bumper. I think in near future i might wanna change mine to Gen2 Cps version.
Item 2: FUGLY front grille.
Item 3: I prefer body matching color rather than any other colorings.
Item 4: Yes i have to agree with u on this.
Item 5: It's nice to have a single din player rather than a build in unit like what we have now. That USB port is a nice touch as well. On the negative side, yes i have to agree with u also. They should improve on its finishing somewhat and redesign the surrounding casing a little bit. It looks too cheapo.

sometimes if dealing with a A**hole snail speed stupid salesman.... this is what u get. actually the first time i went to the Proton outlet located at Sunny Hill, Kuching. Told the dude that i am interested etc etc... and to get back to me on the procedures etc etc. 2-3 days passed without any phone call.

i wanted the thing done asap. i went to another outlet at LeaseWell Leasing (Proton outlet) sekama, kuching. talked to the salesman and all done within 3-4 days (from loan application to getting my car with the plate number that i wanted).

and guess what? 1 week later... the stupid salesman earlier at Proton outlet Sunny Hill area, kuching.... called me up asking me about the car and he wanted to process etc etc...... i told him straight.... "what the hell??? you are way too slow dude. sorry.... i am already driving one for few days now..." and he was shocked at my replies and said sorry to me. i just hung up immediately. to me he is too slow and irresponsible. too bad he just lost a customer.

WTF?! Proton should really train their mechanics well..... There is no such thing that "Campro" engines uses a full 4 litres of engine oil! I can sit all day to fight with them i dun mind...cuz its a fact and its shown and proven. 4L of engine oil is really far far overfilled already and there is nothing special about "Campro" as it is JUST AN ORDINARY NA OLD TECHNOLOGY DOHC ENGINE. What is soo special about it. WTH. Please dont talk about IAFM or CPS ok... these technology existed AGES AGO and its being used in many cars found on our roads today and its nothing new at all.

I have been facing STUPID MECHANICS ever since i got my license over 14 years ago. They dunno the fact about engine oil level requirements.

Why didnt u make noise and screw them for putting such remarks in there? I tell you what... PLEASE EMAIL a complain via proton malaysia's website. it works cuz i once complained and they really called me up and asked about my problems etc etc. Email the bill also and ask for explaination. Seems like the SC u went to is trying to be a smartass.

And actually... SC also rip ppls money in one thing that i saw in ur bill. The gasket oil drain. It is basically a nut or the washer depending on what car makes u drive. And there is NO NEED to replace it everytime u change ur engine oil.

dude.... 4L is overfilled. it does no good to your engine other than damaging it in the long term. Its really bad for the rubber oil seals, bad FC and bad for the general internal engine components.

Persona's engine need ONLY 3.7 litres of engine oil (anyone can correct me if im wrong on the exact amount of litres required).

yes. only some mechs are "knowledgeable" enough.

depends where u are.... any workshops outside can do. just be ready for at least RM10 labor tho.

What you stated is all correct. And yes and yes again and again..... checking engine oil while it has been stopped for quite a while eg. 10 to 15 mins or so..... and early morning before engine start is THE BEST time to check. That is the real oil requirement of the engine. Nothing else.

There is no rationale behind the theories other than this. PERIOD.

any of u suffering from brake judder / vibration? shit man..... mine judder / vibration during braking from 100KMH or more....

Steering vibrate meaning front disc brake and brake pedal vibration is rear drums.... both out. Shit man...... why????????????????

Proton does cover this for warranty right? Current mileage just hit 10k.

What's with the double standards of engine oil change intervals? It is stated black and white in the service booklet. After 10k service mark.... it is EVERY 10K interval for servicing. So why SC states the next 5k oil change interval otherwise? I am going to follow the service booklet. To hell with the 5k service. What a rip off. And by it, i am still within the warranty...

nah i think its just double standards. semi can use till 10k as well. u will notice that there was no indication of what oil can use for how far of a mileage in the booklet at all. if so please indicate.

so its 10k service interval... what oil u use?

I have been servicing at Proton authorized service agent so i do not get all this shit... hehehe... But then when something goes wrong and needed warranty claim.... then i go to SC to do.

Actually main reason i do not go to SC to conduct my warranty services is because, need to make appointment and wait for quite a while to get it done. If i do it at the authorized service agent, i can get to choose a wider variety of oils and also, servicing time is far far shorter / faster compared to SC and some more, i can be up close and personal with my ride when its being serviced . Another reason was, the service agent i go to... they open even on saturday noon till 6pm. So it suits my timing as i am always busy with work.
