QUOTE(dARKaNGEl @ Mar 1 2010, 01:41 AM) do you mean transmission lag during normal drive or when want to overtake? For me, i owned and drove myvi automatic for almost 4 years and now owning Persona automatic for more than half a year. Comparing to Persona automatic, i would say Persona's automatic is really really far better off than myvi's automatic. Why?I would say transmission is quite smooth for normal drive. doesn't feel lag to me and doesn't feel dragging either. just nice. as for overtaking, there's around 1-2 second lag like myvi. saga, never driver before so can't compare. so far i can only get max about 12.33km per liter on my SE and that's hell lotsa highway driving too. 1. Much more smarter gear programming 2. Smooth shifting 3. Comparing the lag, myvi's automatic lags soooooo badly compared to persona's automatic. Tested with other myvis as well to confirm. 4. Result, overtaking was much easier as the auto kicks down very fast, smartly holding onto the gear necessary for power and easily so there was almost no lag. In the myvi automatic, i find myself on many occasions whereby i manually down shift the gears for quick overtaking rather than waiting for it to lag. In Persona, almost never needed to do so. Added on March 1, 2010, 9:38 am QUOTE(andrewckj @ Mar 1 2010, 04:03 AM) just got my proton persona M line AT Tranq Black 4 days ago. been driving for 300kms.. was it after heavy rain or not? if not, most probably due to a loose or disconnected air-cond cooling coil drain hose.So far so good till ystd that when I was fetching my cousin bro, he realized that there were water dripping on his leg at at the passenger seat. A flip of te mud flap shown that quite a large pool of water being trapped. Anyone faced this problem? What could result to this? failure in the air-cond system?=.=darn. i must be very 'lucky' This post has been edited by jasondotcom: Mar 1 2010, 09:38 AM |

just replaced my front brake pads to Trestor Advantage (Blue) pads. Had great experiences with this pads in my previous cars. So hopefully after fully bedded in.... everything will be nice. Kinda sick with stock Bosch pads.
Honestly, in my years of driving in different cars that i owned before... i never once had any good experience with Bosch pads. It is one of the lousiest pads out there. Had good experiences with TRON ceramic metallic pads, Bendix Metal King Titanium, Trestor 2 star and Trestor Advantage. |

QUOTE(yhanwong @ Mar 4 2010, 01:35 PM) i thought warranty for brake system will void if we not using the bosch that set by proton? Screw the warranty. Been going back and forth to adjust the brakes for several times already. I am gonna go to my usual outside workshop to check and fix the rear ticking drum brakes when it comes back. I believe it will be coming back soon enough. correct me if i wrong.. thinking to change it also.. those black powder really make the rim ugly..... Note: If ur worried about those black brake dust... then dun follow me using Trestor Advantage pads. Cuz the brake dust is equally as much as original Bosch pads. I went for it because i want better braking performance. Added on March 4, 2010, 4:15 pm QUOTE(NSX_MY @ Mar 4 2010, 02:15 PM) nope, it wont void since the brake pad consider wear and tear parts, which means wear and tears parts are not cover by warranty. Actually why the rear drum brakes are clicking??? Anyone have any idea??? It is really damn annoying. The mech at the SC told me its a design fault and nothing they could do about it other than to grease the contact part of the backing plate and the drum brake pads. And i think that grease is starting to make my brakes judder..... WTF. This post has been edited by jasondotcom: Mar 4 2010, 04:15 PM |

QUOTE(heavencloud @ Mar 5 2010, 03:11 AM) well sometimes proton a bit slow when delivering the car. I had mine waited for almost 3 months Item 1: Yea i prefer Gen2 Cps front bumper. I think in near future i might wanna change mine to Gen2 Cps version.Please... stop behaving like a kid whom like to show off to his friends when his toys are more canggih than the rest. Here is where we discuss and share info which can bring good or bad to our car so that in the end, we will be happy with our car. We also helps each other in trouble by sharing our piece of experience with the car, not by kicking dirt to each other face. I'm sorry, if you can't understand the simple mutual stuff, you don't belong here. Getting back to the new facelift, there are a few things that i'm skeptical with: 1) bumper [attachmentid=1468383] [attachmentid=1468384] Yes, using the same bumper as gen2 cps. Seems like saving cost while charging the consumer more 2) front grill [attachmentid=1468383] [attachmentid=1468385] I'm wondering why they didnt make it fully-chrome like a camry for example? At least it would make it somehow luxurious. 3) door handle [attachmentid=1468387] usually other car makers when facelifting their cars, the car will comes with a shiny chrome handles, but only proton that comes with a flat-grey handle. I can't comprehend. 4) side mirror [attachmentid=1468389] This will be my own preference, but i like the the old mirror, more sporty. If only they maintain the design while adding the signal lamp, i'll be placing my order on the new side mirrors 5) HU player [attachmentid=1468390] looks a little bit shoddy, some sort like a rush job. Maybe it is just me? Anyway, i'll be looking forward to see the facelift performs especially the well-known noises problem that being haunting the current persona Item 2: FUGLY front grille. Item 3: I prefer body matching color rather than any other colorings. Item 4: Yes i have to agree with u on this. Item 5: It's nice to have a single din player rather than a build in unit like what we have now. That USB port is a nice touch as well. On the negative side, yes i have to agree with u also. They should improve on its finishing somewhat and redesign the surrounding casing a little bit. It looks too cheapo. |

Added on March 3, 2010, 8:55 pm i think you need to follow up with your sales agent and ask him to chase the bank. Mine settle all within one week. [/quote] i did follow up, but they say proton dint send da car yet n yesterday i go to their show room n i talk to the manager, he oso cant tell me when i can get my car, last he say he will exchange 1 of their car to another branch to get my car [/quote] sometimes if dealing with a A**hole snail speed stupid salesman.... this is what u get. actually the first time i went to the Proton outlet located at Sunny Hill, Kuching. Told the dude that i am interested etc etc... and to get back to me on the procedures etc etc. 2-3 days passed without any phone call. i wanted the thing done asap. i went to another outlet at LeaseWell Leasing (Proton outlet) sekama, kuching. talked to the salesman and all done within 3-4 days (from loan application to getting my car with the plate number that i wanted). and guess what? 1 week later... the stupid salesman earlier at Proton outlet Sunny Hill area, kuching.... called me up asking me about the car and he wanted to process etc etc...... i told him straight.... "what the hell??? you are way too slow dude. sorry.... i am already driving one for few days now..." and he was shocked at my replies and said sorry to me. i just hung up immediately. to me he is too slow and irresponsible. too bad he just lost a customer. if u want fast processing PM me. i'll help you out. Added on March 5, 2010, 2:37 pm[quote=fonda82,Mar 5 2010, 01:32 PM] nice!! i jz cant understand why such people exist? be mature plz.. bdw i jz came back frm 2nd service and get charge for rm113++ using shell helix semi sync.. the full bottle pouring is true.. the sc pour n pour until i realize there's somethg wrong.. immediately i stop him den he told me... boss, campro engine need 4l of engine oil lar... special design.. i said its ok... nvm jz follow my words... til i pay den i realize the sc report to the cashier and stated in d bill [attachmentid=1468728] [/quote] WTF?! Proton should really train their mechanics well..... There is no such thing that "Campro" engines uses a full 4 litres of engine oil! I can sit all day to fight with them i dun mind...cuz its a fact and its shown and proven. 4L of engine oil is really far far overfilled already and there is nothing special about "Campro" as it is JUST AN ORDINARY NA OLD TECHNOLOGY DOHC ENGINE. What is soo special about it. WTH. Please dont talk about IAFM or CPS ok... these technology existed AGES AGO and its being used in many cars found on our roads today and its nothing new at all. I have been facing STUPID MECHANICS ever since i got my license over 14 years ago. They dunno the fact about engine oil level requirements. Why didnt u make noise and screw them for putting such remarks in there? I tell you what... PLEASE EMAIL a complain via proton malaysia's website. it works cuz i once complained and they really called me up and asked about my problems etc etc. Email the bill also and ask for explaination. Seems like the SC u went to is trying to be a smartass. And actually... SC also rip ppls money in one thing that i saw in ur bill. The gasket oil drain. It is basically a nut or the washer depending on what car makes u drive. And there is NO NEED to replace it everytime u change ur engine oil. Its really bad for the rubber oil seals, bad FC and bad for the general internal engine components.Persona's engine need ONLY 3.7 litres of engine oil (anyone can correct me if im wrong on the exact amount of litres required). QUOTE(loong2020 @ Mar 6 2010, 12:25 AM) yes you are right...best is too check the engine oil level in the morning before starting the engine....other than that, even you off your engine for few hours, it does take sometime to get accurate results...so best is morning when its cold....never crack the engine yet..... a lot machanics does not know the way of checking it which they normally start the engine to make it run for few seconds, then check.... What you stated is all correct. And yes and yes again and again..... checking engine oil while it has been stopped for quite a while eg. 10 to 15 mins or so..... and early morning before engine start is THE BEST time to check. That is the real oil requirement of the engine. Nothing else. as for the automatic gear oil....warm up the engine, then shift P>R>N>D>3>2>L by pressing the brake then shift all the way back to N and leave it for few seconds and check the level... Added on March 6, 2010, 12:30 am yes....3.7liters is the accurate engine oil level needed...even 3.5liters is more than enough as it will be slightly lower frm the max line... There is no rationale behind the theories other than this. PERIOD. |

What's with the double standards of engine oil change intervals? It is stated black and white in the service booklet. After 10k service mark.... it is EVERY 10K interval for servicing. So why SC states the next 5k oil change interval otherwise? I am going to follow the service booklet. To hell with the 5k service. What a rip off. And by it, i am still within the warranty...

QUOTE(chteh0721 @ Mar 8 2010, 09:47 AM) i think it depends on what type of engine oil u use, if us use fully syn then the service interval will be 10k,if semi then is 5k, so i plan to use fully syn engine oil during my upcoming 10k service. nah i think its just double standards. semi can use till 10k as well. u will notice that there was no indication of what oil can use for how far of a mileage in the booklet at all. if so please indicate.its even stated here http://www.proton-edar.com.my/index.php?pa...tion=view&id=29 This post has been edited by jasondotcom: Mar 8 2010, 09:54 AM |

QUOTE(Xefron @ Mar 8 2010, 10:41 AM) fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc... all those SC.I am using fully sync 0W-40 and the FC is getting better and engine noise reduced. That is why i don't like to send my car to SC,they like to do without asking your concern. I have been servicing at Proton authorized service agent so i do not get all this shit... hehehe... But then when something goes wrong and needed warranty claim.... then i go to SC to do. Actually main reason i do not go to SC to conduct my warranty services is because, need to make appointment and wait for quite a while to get it done. If i do it at the authorized service agent, i can get to choose a wider variety of oils and also, servicing time is far far shorter / faster compared to SC and some more, i can be up close and personal with my ride when its being serviced This post has been edited by jasondotcom: Mar 8 2010, 11:10 AM |
