stick to the basic 1st, candlestick pattern, trendlines and support & resistance. after you master those, you can continue your journey to search for the best and easy indicator.

So if you don't mind to tell me, what indicator are you using?

Determine what type of trader you are..take this quiz..it will tell you your strength and weakness.

http://www.tharptradertest.com/default.aspx?question=1

Depends on what type of trader you are.. for me.. trading should be mechanical and "emotionless". Thats why i use Ichimoku Cloud. Trader mentality is more important than any analysis.

Anyways, now that QE2 is out whats the new story? is it still "sell the dollar"?? I've been cautiously short USDCHF.. nice trending down since last nite..

zzzzz, read again what i said. i said stick to trendlines and support and resistance. those line in itself is a very strong indicator.

if you want a lagging indicator to tell you what has happened, maybe you want to read on some popular one like stochastic or rsi for divergence. moving average is also good to show you general trends if you're not very sure if the price is moving up or down.

you want to know what i use? i'm using trendlines and candlestick pattern ATM. still haven't master the trendlines yet. same with SnR. still beta testing them in demo sad.gif

Why would u only trade EU? I reckon EU is more risky pair to trade now compared to AUD, NZD and CHF. Euro has its own problem hidden under the rug. right now it dont matter what indicator u use..ride USD down.. Dont pick top or bottom.

its been so many moons ago when i last got to know van tharpe, tat time was a virgin in trading & investing laugh.gif
well, without the first step & perseverance, the journey would never have even started or stopped halfway
in time the market will kill all those who can't break thru a certain stage, then they'll stick to those safe unit trust/ asb & etc rolleyes.gif
the van tharp analysis would giv u an idea who u r cool2.gif

I will take profit when the trend change, when the trend will change? I don't know....but my trading system will tell me. Is the trading system can accurately predict trend changes? NO.....but the most important thing is you cut loss(small loss). Trend will surely appear one day, your big profit will cover your small losses, this is what we call good risk to reward ratio. If your system have good risk to reward ratio, please stick to it like you stick to your gf/wife/games or whatever XD

Whether you can stick to your system, have faith with your system, willing to take losses, this will determine whether you are a winner trader or loser trader.

Btw, I am not trying to brag or act good, just share my PERSPECTIVE in trading the financial market. Anyone can critic or comment against me smile.gif

We keep the position size aside, it really depends on how much capital you can afford, that differs if you are high income consultant or businessman compared to a college student. But the correct trading mentality is a must if you want to win money. Another thing is your tolerance level against risk.
