1. Okok so if count 400 baht should be enough per cab for max. 4 pax?
2. hmm... you at bangkok? heheheh or when u know how far will it take let me know ya! so if i would like to take this BTS ... i take from airport -> Phayathai / Ratchatwei? why i saw some hotel at pratunam they say their hotel is near to Victoria XXX BTS station?
3. Noted thanks
*
1. Yes. Pay whatever on meter (e.g. 200B) and add 50B for airport surcharge. Tolls pay separately.
2. No. Victory Monument is not Pratunam. Pratunam area is on Petchburi Rd in between Ratchathewi BTS and Phayathai BTS. Victory Monument is adjacent to Pratunam so some hotels use "Pratunam" to cash in on the name.

If airport link opens tomorrow as announced for test runs, then you take BKK->Phayathai. Your Pratunam hotel will probably be between this BTS station and Ratchathewi station (the next station). If you are cabbing it, then probably 200B-250B + 50B airport surcharge + tolls (around 70B)

Thanks for the good new. I called up The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) 006622220175 to double confirm, they said open tomorrow till end August and is FREE !! (If my understanding of her english is correct la )

So that means if i want to find a hotel, i must find the hotel on Petchburi Rd in between Ratchathewi BTS and Phayathai BTS ?

Airport to Pratunam is not that far by taxi. However traffic congestion is always a problem in that area. Since you are travelling in a group of 4, I think catching a taxi from airport to pratunam would be better choice.

Best choose a hotel that suite your budget and near by a BTS or Subway station.

Going on 16th to 19th.

Why need to worry how far from airport leh ? FREE airport transfer from SARL alreadt ma...

There are two hotels within 100 to 200 ft walking distance from Pratunam Market and SARL Ratchaprarob Station:
1) baiyok tower II
2) Indra Regent Hotel

Travel with meter taxi from airport would probably cost you less then 500baht. It is much cheaper then travalling from KL sentral to LCCT in a taxi biggrin.gif

Best decide where you wanna go while in Bangkok? It is not fun get stuck in traffic jam. During peak hours most taxi also quite reluctunt to bring you to other congested area as well. If you are really after shopping for clothing, then only consider staying in Pratunam area.

I thought the Soi Sampeng in China Town is the mother of all shopping in Bangkok ? They are selling at wholesale prices.

For clothing Pratunam would probably be the best place. Notice there is also some china made garments selling in this area.

I think the nearest BTS station in Pratunum area is Chidlom station. It is a good 20min walk from Platinum plaza. Since this Airport Rail Link is new to me, I have no idea whether it have any link to BTS station?

There are lots of reasonable price hotels located in Sukhumvit area. Few are located nearby BTS or subway station.
