hey guyz.. i need help...
how to shoot dance? currently only have 50 1.8 n flash for indoor..
range 50mm is so short and so im at the side of the stage to frame the shot.. no tele at the moment
any advise on the technique? slow sync? because afraid would spoil the event as a OP. pretty please help thanks
and one more thing.. the celling is too high.. so direct flash?
read some on the internet but needed your own opinion.. thanks
If you are the OP, I would suggest that you be familiar with the place. Try have a look at the location and try a few shots BEFORE (eg a day before etc) the dance day.
If 50mm is too short, to overcome that, you can use the highest image size setting for your A550 (ie L:14M size). You can crop and resize the photos later. (cropping is just like zooming digitally

)
IMHO the f1.8 is quite a fast lens (in terms of aperture, ie bright lens). With acceptable clean high ISO of A550, you may get by without using a flash... hopefully

Im not sure if using a flash would be much help. The flash would light the dancers in the forefront, but MAY leave the dancers at the back dark. Hence, IMHO best would be to capture the shots using high ISO + bigger aperture + shutter burst mode (multiple exposures) + AF-C ...
Just a noobie's suggestion
