how to shoot dance? currently only have 50 1.8 n flash for indoor..
range 50mm is so short and so im at the side of the stage to frame the shot.. no tele at the moment

any advise on the technique? slow sync? because afraid would spoil the event as a OP. pretty please help thanks

and one more thing.. the celling is too high.. so direct flash?

read some on the internet but needed your own opinion.. thanks

using direct flash
from what i learn b4 in the basic workshop,go A mode > meter background > take reading > go M mode > input the value > focus > snap
*

albnok i would like to meet you someday.. can? biggrin.gif

braindead_fr3ak laugh.gif nice sharing.. experimenting is nice.. but in 10 experiments 1-2 succeeds.. and sometimes really needs somebody advice as a learner..

bros, im having a tight situation here =D this is how it sounds...

yesterday, i was trying to shoot some grasses at night( no ambient light at all). The problem i have was autofocus. I know that it doesn't like dark condition. So, i forgives it. But then when i switched to MF, i couldn't get a focus  cry.gif The MF ring was on infinity and the camera was 3 feet from the grasses btw. I've turned the focus ring a few times for a few attempts...but still, no luck.  cry.gif

How can i solve the problem without creating a light source?

The second problem, when im shooting right into the starry sky, I juz got a few tiny lil' light spots. So tiny that I can barely see it. I was using shutter priority with 30s. Isn't that long shutter speed will capture more light rays from the star to make it as a star? Am i doing it wrong?  cry.gif

thx

try to set at MFD and get back yourself until the picture is in focus

star trail? hehe.. 30 sec is not enough.. i used bulb mode and count myself until 7- 15 min (used the remote shutter)

kmarc : it depends on your shooting style.. if you go flashless.. 17-50.. or 85 1.4 because 50mm is too short.. (dreaming me)

as my shooting all need flashless... so i got in the wrong way already.. flash for AF assist only..

long time no see IeR...

albnok.. nice pics and nice TT.. drool.gif is it the diagonal fisheye become diagonal only because of the hood block the upper and lower part?

That's the main thing about the F58. Bulky.... lucky I got my F20 also!  rclxms.gif
Yes sifu.  notworthy.gif

Yeah, I think I can do more with 18250 + F58.

1750 where can grab anytime? So difficult to find a good 2nd hand one.....  sad.gif
True true. F58 it is. Going to KL this saturday. Will hunt for a good bargain.  drool.gif
*
dont rush.. biggrin.gif can get 17-50 around 1k++ last time.. very good bargain

some people prefer bokeh, because it is different from pns.. i found it is interesting also..

and even for me.. @ 105mm flash cant do much.. 250mm? hoho

Isit possible to change the flash lower/higher ?
What is an EV?
*
what flash? build in flash? u can -2 until +2.. biggrin.gif

+1ev = +1 stop biggrin.gif

press menu and drop down to flash compens. there u can set + or -

fill flash.. normal flash.. the shutter speed is fixed depends on your focal length

slow sync the flash will be added to the calculated normal exposure for ambient light (if u use the A mode)

rear sync add flash to the rear of exposure of normal exposure of ambient light (if u use the A mode)

wireless.. can trigger external flashes biggrin.gif

hope it helps

just play around biggrin.gif it is nice and good to explore

cjlai : more poison from 85 1.4? haha.. funding mode customer.. biggrin.gif
