Hello.. good morning.
string, i forgot bout the codecs you told me last nite. what was it again?
btw, one more question, if disabling battery usage in bios means what? click the battery charging off?
*
VideoLAN. VLC for short. The download package should include codecs as well. The objective is to install the minimum amount of codecs needed as possible, codec packages are the favourite method used by virus planters to sneak their malwares inside your system.

We're you fiddling around with the internals? or were you reinstalling Windows 7 and some of the devices in Device Manager are missing or showing exclamation mark? Otherwise, initiate a repair by booting from a bootable system image or a Windows 7 DVD.

Which also brings up the point that I cannot stress enough: Backup. The built-in Backup in Windows 7 is good enough to make sure you have a bootable system image should anything craps out later. I was eyeing Genie Timeline for my backup solution, because it operates just like how Time Machine backups works on Mac OS X. Unfortunately, it didnt mention whether the Genie backups are bootable or not.

First week gone by, week number 2 of waiting for my All Powerful M15x to arrive sad.gif
I got a Razer Deathadder, and I decided to skip getting a mousepad(was eye-ing the Razer Goliathus) because I already have a large mousepad I got from The Orange Box, which imo is pretty dang good.
I also got an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows, primarily because I want the dongle to play Guitar Hero with my Xbox controller. Also I guess it's nice to have a controller to use when I take the computer to college biggrin.gif

As for the headset, I'm probably gonna pick up the Microsoft LifeChat sometime iono lol.

You're talking about graphic processor speed throttling because it's on a battery power plan? The M11X is capable of gaming with full power if you run it on high performance, even on battery. Of course, battery life is tongue.gif when you're running on that plan.

I'm going to college in Perth, the dorm room wouldn't really have space for my Xbox, then I want to bring it back here every holiday, some more my siblings want to play it when I'm away tongue.gif

I want GH5 to come on PC though, that would be rad. They did it right with GHWT on PC icon_idea.gif

I got the one with the vanilla i7 CPU and the GTX260M. No customizations or anything, dad thought it was expensive enough =\
For Street Fighter I might pick up the MadCatz Fightpad or something which has a better d-pad. I played SF4 on my Xbox controller on the Xbox and I just totally failed in comparison to the stick or even the PS2 with the Dual Shock sweat.gif

I couldn't go to the gathering because I was at a friend's birthday party today. I HAVE A LIFE rclxms.gif

Added on March 8, 2010, 1:10 ambtw guys, will the codecs affect video quality?
lets say a person uses klite codec on his desktop vs a person using vlc on his desktop, both playing full hd 1080p file. will there be any difference in terms of quality?

@Michael
Plug it your power adapter, then redo the benchmark. The point here is to make sure none of our processors are throttled down.

@Zerokid
SO the BSOD is from an OCed CPU. From what I read at NBR, the SU7300 Dell slapping into the M11X is very finicky with the voltage it receives, Dell marked it at 0.9V when stock SU7300 on Asus CULV laptop can accept stable overclocks at 1.73Ghz because they did not restrained the voltage to a particular value. Dell did this probably to comply with their claims of superior battery life, which in turn makes CPU overclocks a very tricky situation. Some may be able to get their M11X to stay stable with the overclock, while others don't. Were you plugged in on AC when the BSOD happens? That may explain why it happened.

On a separate note, funny how gathering = no life. More like not attending one = insecurities, unless you're tied up with prior plans. I'm sure Michael's life is more than what certain people can claim as "no life", and I certainly like to think that I have more life than a typical person here. Try Frankfurt, Tokyo and Sydney/Brisbane. And then Universal Studios Singapore at the end of the month. Certainly "more life" there. Party? Yawn. I have that like every weekend! rolleyes.gif

The whole intention of a gathering was to pool like-minded minds ,and as mentioned by ff8ong, "to share knowledge". The whole act of "feeling superior behind the anonimity of a virtual username, the whole keyboard warrior" thing, that act gets old fast. icon_rolleyes.gif

I've specifically requested from my CS to pass me a survey form so that I can express my "concerns" with the M11X order. The email with that survey link is passed to me today, and I've answered them just now.

user posted image

The question from the beginning already gets the brunt of my dissatisfaction.

user posted image

I am SPECIFICALLY waiting for this question, and the long comment I leave at the end explains my dissatisfaction THOROUGHLY. Here is what I wrote:-

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

May be TL;DR, but if you care enough to read, all my gripes are there.

I've done my duty on getting them to buck up and improve themselves. Whether they take this into consideration, or just "another survey form than they can just chuck into the garbage bin", I'll leave it up to them.

High? Leave everything at default, 1280 x 768, then redo the bench. Mine is 6280.
