Do a display reset by turning on your PS3 but also holding down the power button until it beeps.
You should be able to select your display to HDMI and resolution to your preference then.

Yes, 1TB 2.5" HDD exists, WD's Scorpio Blue or Toshiba's MKxx59GSM

but I really doubt you can't use it on the PS3. Why? Cuz if you look at the specifications, the physical dimensions of the drive is 12.5mm , where as, having gone through a lot of threads on PS3 HDD upgrading, the HDD must be a 9.5mm

Correct me if I am wrong on this though

oh haha okay. thanks for the advice mates.

now it would be either 500 or the 640 like you mention.

i have alot of series and stuff to put inside.

plus 1 game install 4gb also taking up quite alot of space already.
*
I believe only metal gear solid takes that much space, and nowadays, most games dont need install.

I'm not sure whether PS3 can support 1TB HDD/12.5mm HDD or not, but i can confirm that most of the 1TB 2.5" HDD have the height of 12.5mm which is not the standard height of 9.5mm. Toshiba recently launch their 1TB 2.5" HDD with 9.5mm height, i think soon other brand like WD will follow.

Brand doesn't really matter. The most important to take into consideration would be the dimensions and also the RPM spindle speed.

Don't understand what you're trying to say... why the heck you turn off your PS3 when the display is changing?

Normally the drive will connect to the connector straight, but since the 3.5" HDD cannot fit in the HDD bay, you need the SATA tape I was talking about to attach the connector to the HDD.

In a way, you have an external internal drive icon_rolleyes.gif

I think you're referring to an adapter instead. S-ATA tape could mean S-ATA tape drives.

Anyway I would highly suggest DWExia just get himself a 2.5" Hard Disk instead. It's much more practical IMO since he's already having a headache trying to find out which brand of HDD to get already.

To everyone else, if you're interested in making a 3.5" adapter for yourself, here's a method.
