Hi bros, can I asked how can i determine that my ps3 is running full HD on the game like GOW3 on my 40 inches FullHD lcd tv?

Hmm as i know if ur LCD tv is support by Full HD mode, it will automatically b in Full HD
Unless the cable u use to connect to ur PS3 is not the HDMI cable or its a convertor.
2ndly, the cable quality oso determine ur LCD picture quality output.

use the 'display' buttan on your tv remote control

i'm using the toshiba hdmi cable comes together with my hdmi dvd player with upscale capabilty to 1080p. mine is samsung 40inches series 5 full hd. but i see the graphic for gow3 so so only wor. like cartoon instead of real like 3D graphic.

Get a DVI-HDMI cable, which cost around RM30~ for 1.8 meter, check in Sri comp they have 5 meter's cable too.. It wont affect the performance, since it's still digital.

Nope, he ain't kidding, GoW 3's GFX are definitely better than FFXIII's, aside from the CGI scenes.

well..that's the downside when you want to make xbox able. the in game graphic had to go down a bit so xbox people no need a lot of DVD to play the game.

In-game graphics probably doesn't have much to do with the DVD drive.

If anything, the PS3 has a BD read speed and a RAM bottleneck.

In-game graphics are more to actual hardware than the media it goes on.

But during PS3 menu time when start the ps3, the reso is 1920x1080p.

when turn on GOW3 the reso dropped to 720p and my fullhd lcd tv flickered to change to 720p.

I would say the in-game graphics are based on the developers skill instead. If they can optimise it properly for the hardware itself, it will run good.

In any case, GoW 3 is developed by Sony's own studio and FFXIII is developed by SE, who is a third party dev. So there might be some differences in developer coding skills there. Also, the Crystal Tools engine isn't a PS3 platform engine only, therefore there might be some optimisation problems due to it being a multi-platform engine.

Bear in mind the game itself is only around 8GB (FFXIII), so it's not a problem with the DVD count, they could even spare another DVD to make it 4 DVDs if they could optimise the graphics for in-game further if they wanted. But I suppose time wasn't a there for them to do it. Since the X360 version lacks some self shadows on the characters compared to the PS3 version.
