Agree with K3nnYkl82. Alot of electronic appliances will b tax accordingly when selling in malaysia, a car as an example.
So with the RM200 extra, i dun mind at all. Is not tat i'm rich or wat, jus tat MY set will save u alot of trouble in my opinion.

I was wondering, how many ppl in this forum own MY or SG set?
Seems like there's pros & cons owning any set.
Start from price, warranty, free gifts(mayb) factor that attract ppl to buy either 1. cool2.gif

buy MY set - rosak in 1 year time, can bring to sony and change.
If rosak after 1 year, can still bring into sony for service.

Buy SG set - cheaper by rm100-200, warranty everything need to be done in SG. after 1 year, servicing only can be done in game shop.
*
Ya lo, thinking of long term, MY set is better la.

buying from sony style nets you a decent amount of sony points, which more than covers the savings you get if you buy SG or even MY sets from game shops.
*
Is the sony point u mean is the membership card that u can apply while purchasing the console and used it on the spot to get the discount?

yes. but you can only use the points for the next purchase, so get the ps3 set, pay, get points and then only buy that extra controller or hdmi cable. laugh.gif

not sure how much is the rebate %, but between my ps3, lcd tv, the missus' laptop etc... them points never seem to run out for me laugh.gif

Wow u must be a loyal customer to sony man biggrin.gif

If share media with Win7 PC, it's almost automatic. First you need to make sure the PS3 is on the same network as the PC. For me, my PS3 is on wired network to a 5-port switch on the rack which has a single cable connection to the 16-port switch where the PC is connected, and is on the same subnet as the PC, but I think you can also do it over Wifi. If done correctly the Win7 PC show up on the XMB. But it will not be accessible by default, you need to tell Win7 to allow the PS3 to access it.

On the Win7 PC, you must then go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> HomeGroup, and select "Choose media streaming options". select "All networks", and look out for the PS3's name (sometimes will show up as "Unknown Device"). Set that as well as "Media programs on this PC and remote connections..." to Allow and click OK. Then close the Control Panel window.

Now try to access the Win7 PC. If configured properly your libraries will appear, and within it your songs.

Good luck!

Only Win7 able to do so? hmm.gif

Hi bros, can I asked how can i determine that my ps3 is running full HD on the game like GOW3 on my 40 inches FullHD lcd tv?
*
Hmm hmm.gif as i know if ur LCD tv is support by Full HD mode, it will automatically b in Full HD rclxms.gif
Unless the cable u use to connect to ur PS3 is not the HDMI cable or its a convertor.
2ndly, the cable quality oso determine ur LCD picture quality output.

thx bro, roughly hw much will the converter cost ? and will it affect the performance or graphics since its converted ? thanks
*
Hmm cost not much, likely around RM25~40, depends where u buy it from. smile.gif
If ya using the PS3 for gaming, it will be not much diff since the LCD is around 22''.
But if u wan to watch blue ray on larger LCD, eg 42", the cable quality really make a difference.

like ffrulz said, the dev optimised the game at said res... for our enjoyment too

if sony forced all dev to come out 1080p games, then we're all complaining stutter frame-rates with their current developments.... (like those in pc when gfx not so power enuf eg crysis)

one thing i hate those games developed well-below native 720p standard, blurred gfx... sigh then the dev blame ps3 not so power-enuf.. isk isk

we hope that next-gen console would make 1080p a minimum requirement for future games

that flicker thing when changed res is normal icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Hmm for some info i saw on web, in fact those game dev not fully utilise the PS3 GPU yet hmm.gif
PS3 have 2 GPU but now all the games only running on one. So tis make the another GPU like useless.

Just checking - any differences in getting a Singapore set of PS3 compared to a M'sia set of PS3 aside from the price and warranty location?
