QUOTE(ramz @ Feb 22 2010, 01:19 PM) you can do this. i have done this before too. if by pm-ing, then only him can see the solution.you will need the following: 1. A null ethernet cable to connect your ps3 to your pc. your pc MUST have an ethernet LAN port. 2. A PC which u will cucuk your usb broadband. your pc will act like a gateway. if u need more details pm me. But before u do this let me warn u, Ping is bad. So don't expect to play high demanding online games where the game needs fast response. FPS games line MW2 u can forget it. http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/989719 thats not the spirit of forum-ing |

normally 1st gen of bigger than usual hdd always have thicker form (12.5 mm), which is not compatible with ps3 internal hdd slot / cradle, but can be put externally + long sata cable
1st gen 500gb 2.5" sata had 12.5mm thickness now almost (if not all) 500gb 2.5" is in 9.5mm form, which is compatible with ps3 i believe 640gb 2.5" sata is only available in 12.5mm form for now. i could be wrong though the best way is checking the datasheet for the physical dimension of an hdd on the manufacturer's website. |

QUOTE(shahreza2000 @ Mar 19 2010, 05:47 PM) still not sure whether that 640gb drive have jumper for sata 1.5 sata is designed as backward/forward-compatibleshould be no prob then... found few ppl in other forums have used the said drive. ps3 can only utilise upto sata 1.5gbit but most hdds are already in sata 3gbit (often referred as sata II). 500gb drives included QUOTE Given the importance of backward compatibility between SATA 1.5 Gbit/s controllers and SATA 3 Gbit/s devices, SATA 3 Gbit/s autonegotiation sequence is designed to fall back to SATA 1.5 Gbit/s speed when in communication with such devices. In practice, some older SATA controllers do not properly implement SATA speed negotiation. Affected systems require the user to set the SATA 3 Gbit/s peripherals to 1.5 Gbit/s mode, generally through the use of a jumper, however some drives lack this jumper. ps3 doesnt have this prob, so no jumper is needed This post has been edited by vorchiel: Mar 19 2010, 06:31 PM |

unless you are connecting using a USA IP (direct, VPN, proxy, etc), you are off limits of those contents.

QUOTE(kding2 @ Mar 24 2010, 07:35 PM) As for the region lock, there is nothing that we can do about that, right? region lock only for ps1/ps2/dvdmovie/bdmovie mediaIt is kinda suck because most of the games that I want to download is there.... I mean, there is no point download a japanese version if I can't read it. as for ps3/psn games (excluding downloadable ps1 games), most release on asian psn store is in english. i see no issues here. to get english psone games, one can always buy a us psn card |

QUOTE(wke002 @ Mar 31 2010, 04:29 PM) Ok, been browsing around for ps3 and my mind now set dead straight ps3. hv not really even touch one yet, hope can answer some doubt. 1. yes1. can play the pasar malam dvd movies and CD for songs only. 2. currently is there imitation games/disc or whoever sell the games for ps3, can i take it as original. 3. if I buy fm ps3 fm game shop(my version), are they usually warranty by Sony malaysia or water set. 4. if its water set most sold in game shop, what are the difference between sony mal and the water set other than price. Thanks ah... 2. ps3 cant play any bootleg games now, even if the games are available. 3. almost all malaysian set in all shops in malaysia is legit. the only water sets are sg hk or other regions' ps3. 4. warranty. u cant send water sets to sony malaysia repair centre. usually the shops will send for you to the origin's country or repair for you, but you;ll have to bear the costs. |

during ps1 & ps2 era, our region had not been recognised as a viable market yet. and our area was under jurisdiction of sony asia last time. thus all was clumped together into ntsc-j classification.
it was till ps3 & psn comes into existence that sony asia has english-language games (region 3) instead of using the old ntsc-j system |

QUOTE(ffrulz @ Apr 4 2010, 12:20 AM) Hmm I don't think the alphabets are the revisions. If it's a new revision (changes to the hardware internally) I would think they'll relabel it as CECH 21 and onwards. ya maybe youre righthttp://www.ps3news.com/PlayStation-3/two-n...-2101b-hit-fcc/ |

QUOTE(Shufflerz @ Apr 7 2010, 03:03 PM) Question regarding to DLC Sharing. no. but if you can figure it out, youll have your name plastered over the internets like geohotzI bought a Marvel vs Capcom 2(MvC2) from a forumer here. So at 1st I create a new PS3 user, and login into his PSN, and download both the game and the unlock key. And after download, I switch back to my account to play. No problem. And then I deleted the temporary PS3 user as I've already done downloading the game. And when I start playing, it became trail version back. I found out the deleting the account cause the DLC hilang. So is there anyway to delete the account and in the same time not losing the DLC? |

reg using normal browser is easier
http://asia.playstation.com/ if malaysian ps3, youll have to reg the system using malaysian psn id. if you already have one, just log in and register your hardware there. if not, create a new psn id |
